Had someone call me about scrapping a 1973 21' Airstream...

He wanted to know what the scrap value would be for it. I asked him what was wrong with it, and he said nothing. He had actually just finished living in it for a year.

The best part? He said he was going to list it on Craigslist for $5900. I am no expert on Airstreams, but I bet you could buy it and double or triple your money no problem. If you are in the Denver area and are interested in it send me a PM and I will put you in contact with him.

There's a big difference between scrap value and retail price, (5900)

Air streams are crazy popular to a certain kind of folk who dig Rv's Mech. They have an awesome resale value, same goes with a Class A type called Lazy Daze. You can buy one, an still sell it used for 10 grand 7 years later.

An that makes me sad someone just scrap a perfectly good Air Stream. Those babies are pretty sweet, an if it's an old one I'm gonna go pull a beer from the cooler an cry in to it.

Take a look at some of these prices, an yes, I'm pretty sure the majority of these folks get what their asking. Airstreamers(As the fans of them are known as) go nuts over these like a folks go nuts over vintage games, computers, etc.

Edit : I just saw you mentioned it was a '73. Sorry for overlooking that part. I'm now going to cry into said beer.

People like to make food trucks out of 'em. Try to sell it on craigslist before you scrap it.

Believe me if that thing hit my yard it would NOT be scrapped. I put the guy in touch with a potential buyer. I would gladly lose a few thousand pounds of scrap to know that something so beautiful goes to a good home.
