Dishwasher racks

was at my local yard today that I buy wire from and I had some time , so I looked around the shred pile . a lot of appliances, I saw a few dishwashers , so I looked if they still had the racks and they did , and I remembered that dishwasher racks go for a lot of money used on eBay. so I figured what the hell and bought two sets for shred price(a little more), came out to five bucks. so now all I have to do is put them on eBay and see if they sell. let you guys know what happens . never sold anything on eBay before lol.

Took a look at ebay and was extremely surprised on what they are going for. I have always just thrown them in with my shred pile, even some that looked real nice. May have to rethink this now if I get one that is still in real good condition.

My biggest problem is finding a good box to ship them in.

I sold a couple Kitchen Aid racks awhile back on eBay for $35 each plus shipping. Also the timer, front stainless panels, plastic parts and anything else of value. Only the steel and wiring went for scrap.

I have a silly question:

I have purchased several items on e bay, but I have never sold anything on there.

Do you have to pay a fee for using their service ?

How do you receive your money , is it via Pay Pal?

You've done good in purchasing there, got you a head start with some feedback, feedback that at least shows others there that you know what it's like to be the buyer.
The next best step is make you a listing and see how selling works.
There are a zillion things to learn about it, and one way is to jump in and swim with it, just be careful and slow, pay attention to details, and I'd suggest starting with your "lesser" items until you feel you've learned enough to risk things you don't wish to just toss away.

these things sell guys ill tell ya, just got around to selling the ones I had in the last week or so , sold two sets of racks and a microwave turntable on ebay

This is a F&P (Fisher & Phaykel, NZ brand) dishwasher arm part


This is the part the arm fits onto. Notice the white washer, its Teflon, its a bearing surface for the spinning arm


What happens with these items, the arm spins on the Teflon surface, it then wears thru it. It then starts wearing out the stainless steel arm at the same bearing surface.
One day, days from now, it will wear thru the stainless arm & then the arm will drop down, letting all the water out & the dishes will not get washed properly.
Thats when the owner throws it out....

Thats when you come along, unscrew the old parts & replace them with undamaged parts & sell it for Hundred$$$$

To check the arm, just grab the end of it & see how much 'slop' there is in it. The worn ones are wayyyyy more looser.

Bottom arms wear first, more water pressure on them. The top arms are normally good in a old washer, check the Teflon washer too.
