Tips When Saving Parts for later use or resale

Always label them with brand, model numbers, and any other pertinent information known at the time.
I keep a wide roll of masking tape nearby and a sharp permanent marker which won't wash off of the parts, so I first stick a piece of tape on it to write on. Duck tape or shipping tape will leave glue stuck which can hardly be cleaned off, painter tape doesn't stick well enough, so my tape of choice is plain wide masking tape

Keep the parts together in a box, in a bag, on a shelf, anywhere together, then when you get ready to list a part, or need one, you won't have forgotten the brand, model, etc, etc, information you will need.

I can't count the times I've stripped a unit, thinking I'd surely remember what it came from, only to move along and forget before coming back to it. Whether it's a computer, refrigerator (the fan and start switch if working are always worth saving), electric motors, dishwasher, microwave, car part, whatever it is you're saving, use that tape and mark it right then, before you forget ; )
