how do I research this sculpture?

So I picked this up from a new Thriftstore account. It was broken from the base so I welded it back on. Any ideas what the person is made of? It has weld "globs" all over it that are rusted, but underneath is some sort of black metal. How the heck to I research a value? Thanks for any help!!

The black looks to be the slag from a welding rod. I think someone used an arc welder to weld to itself.

Well....guess what...it just sold on Ebay for 190.00!! I am going to use the Fed Ex Packaging Service and ship it off. They will pack it so I can't be blamed if it gets damaged. Only cost 16.00 on top of normal shipping for the box, packing material and for them to pack it. After it is all said and done I should clear 110.00 after the Ebay/Paypal fees and shipping. I have not gotten anything else from that Thriftstore(the havent called me), but since I sold a bike I got from them for 125.00 and this for 110.00 I think I am going to swing by and make a "cash donation" and see if I can get some more of their stuff!!

Good score. Looks like it pays to hang on to stuff that could be worth more than scrap.

Yep, I have learned (from this site) that resell is the obvious the best way to make money. I have already paid for my Camaro project and then some doing this. My mentality it is if it sells for more that scrap value then I am ahead....worst case scenario you set on it for a while, it doesn't sell and and you scrap it.
