I have a 3 point hitch for a john deere A but I don't have the top point. Anyone have any idea on the value of it?
Thanks Brian

Looks relatively simple to make. My seat of the pants feeling is it isn't worth a bunch.
KZ,
The John Deere A is an old tractor that never had a 3 point hitch so what you have is some home made pieces for a hitch. It doesn't look complete because there would be some bits that bolt to the tractor.
Here's a link to a drawing of a commercial aftermarket 3 point hitch for a JD "A".
Like Lousy said, maybe worth a few bucks to the right guy.
Jon.
Oh that explains why I can't find a price. What should I do with it I don't really wanna scrap it.
You can do a couple of things....fleecebay, or take a look for tractor forums on the 'net. A lot of times they have a buy and sell section where you can market directly to the guys who have a use for this stuff. It seems to me that most of the forums allow you to post into the buy and sell section for free, too. I'm pretty sure there is a forum for old John Deere tractors as they are probably the most sought after antique tractor to restore.
I don't think you will have a lot of trouble selling these pieces for better than scrap.
Jon.
Been on a farm for 65 yrs and used some of this stuff. Nowdays I'm sending it to scrap and thinking it's a shame, but I'm 40 yrs behind in my thinking as there is very little use or demand unless someone is restoring an old tractor and it's hard to find those guys. I regularly close my eyes and add it to the pile. It's an aftermarket item anyhow. Too heavy to ship anywhere. You might try Antique Tractors - Yesterday's Tractors : Parts and Online Community or just turn your money and keep scrapping.
I got some guys I'm going to ask with tractors if that doesn't work out I will add it to my like which I hate to do
Seeing the picture at that angle...
I'm oddly reminded of space invaders. Heh.
Carry on.
