Well, I just looked at their free trial. It's one of those sneaky ones where you have to enter your credit card info, and they'll automatically bill you after 7 days or 7 searches, whichever comes first. It's about $20 a month, $200 a year, which actually isn't bad -- less than what Terapeak cost me. But if you don't need to look up anything other than this lamp, and you remember to cancel the subscription before 7 days go by, it might be useful. It is supposed to be a pretty good price database for this kind of thing.
I can also look at eBay sales for the past year if that would help, but I'd need as accurate a name for the thing as possible. Otherwise, when I do my queries, I'll get every Marbro lamp listing on eBay over the past year, which is not what you need.
I have a weakness for lamps which is unfortunate because they don't stack or store well and in many case don't hold value. Thanks for the post and yet another thing to watch for.
Always good to use that meter to test but keep in mind that continuity can act different under load when it comes to shorts. Like Mother Nature, Electricity can be a B itch and you don't know it until you get "The Look" and it's too late.

I would definitely need a picture, but if I went with my imagination right now I'd say it's probably worth way more in resale than it is scrap value...to the right buyer.
My rule of thumb is, never scrap an item that works or can be fixed and sold for use. Oh yeah....I forgot......or sold for profit!!!!! $$$$$$$$
anything brass that is not destroyed is worth more than scrap. the trick is finding the person that wants it.
do not clean it till you do research. some stuff is worth more dirty. look up patina
Currently looking for a job in or related to scrap/recycling. Relocation is possible for the right offer.
Found this on Ebay this morning Near as I can tell it's exactly the same as the one I have. Sold for $89 on 3/28/14. Well I tried, don't know why I can't get that picture to enlarge.
Here you go:
OK, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say I don't think this seller knows a lot about retail, cuz his product photos aren't exactly seductive. I mean seriously, what's with the light bulbs there? Burt, if you put yours on eBay, we don't want to see any fluorescent coils in the candelabra, ok? Sheesh.
Are those lights are supposed to have shades on them (to throw the light downward), or are they supposed to look like miniature versions of the central fixture?
From the closeups on eekBay (search for 251321953258), you can tell the hardware is brass-plated because there are spots where the plating has worn off.
Thanks Kim you saved me again! Yes everything I have found says there should be a shade going over the glass diffuser globe. I think the seller was giving a "weak" example of how each light can be turned on. Who am I to judge I can't take or even copy pictures yet! That is exactly the same as the one I found though. Mine is not as clean as that one, not bad for rescued from a dumpster and cost nothing! As are lowered dumpster cost are more than paying for my part time worker.
I found a place in North Carolina that sells everything to restore these lamps, going to try and find somewhere in Calif. The place in N.C. has totally restored ones with diffuser and really nice fabric shades selling for $$$$. His sight says they were the most efficient lamp made for the quality of light they produce. I guess he's talking about going from just one small light to all four on and with the large one going to 300 watts. That would be a lot of light in my living room.
This guy presented his product better, and he got $175 + $73.55 S&H for his lamp. (See item # 281273497848.)
Not judging -- it's just bizness. A few extra details in your product presentation can make a huge difference. That's why I get treated better when I go out in nice clothes and makeup.
The right lamps make a big difference!
Where in NC? an cool looking lamp. I agree with what FL says on selling it on eBay. Go for the gold with your ad an you'll get the sale if someone is looking to buy. Cheap, lazy, half-ass ads just clutter up the site an distract buyers from your awesome ad. I found this to be a good rule of thumb with any selling online. Your ad is your salesman if you will. Without a good pitch it's just collecting dust.
An see the forces are bringing you within range of the sandbar. They are saying.."Burt..come visit the cooler, bring us west coast sea shells, an that really cool amp...Burt...visit the cooler..."

Lincolntown, N.C. company called Lamp Shade Outlet. Sirs last time I was in N.C. my sister and I spent a day gathering prehistoric shark teeth, it was after a storm and these black shark teeth were all over the place. I have a sea shell collection that I have collected from beaches all over (Hawaii, N.C. Virginia, Florida Keys, Maine, Connecticut, England, France, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Vancouver B.C., R.I., Washington, Oregon, Texas, just a few). If theres a beach I'm going to it!

My wife is hating on your shell collection right now. lol.
Remind me to hide you if you ever return this way, she's likely to get violent if she finds out you didn't bring any shells. She has an addiction with them I swear. I got buckets full! Maybe this is why she doesn't yell at me for my buckets...oh wait..mine bring in cash.
Good luck with it buddy, an remember those pictures, or I'll ask FL to release the evil HAL upon you!

Wife & your buckets are in the right place for shells. I always like to go right after a big storm. If there is anything big storms are good for it's what they toss back on the shore. I'm going to get my brother to come over and give me a tutorial all photos (starting to piss me off!).
Sir, at least in San Diego, there aren't any shells to speak of. Nothing worthwhile. Some sea glass though, which I covet.
Jill depends on where you go, next time try this little cove, it's called "Shell Beach" near La Jolla. I think you will find more shells to fill several buckets. It's a hike down some steep cliffs though!
Thanks BigBurt. Next time I go to visit the folks, I'll head to La Jolla and check it out.
I love San Diego.
Yea..like Burt said. Gotta go digging for those good shells. Cracks me up every year, I hear tourists complain about a lack of shells.
Here's why they don't find shells..
1.They are to lazy.
2.They don't go out when it rains, or after a storm.
3.They refuse to listen to the locals who tell them where to go to always find shells.
4. My personal favorite...they don't realize not all shells are available at every **** beach. THEY VARY UPON AREA PEOPLE! Your not going to find shells native to <insert place> off my sandbar, unless there is some seriously crazy weather happening.
5. They are looking for the same shells sold in the beach shops.
I got plenty of secret spots for shells, that I gladly share with folks visiting.
I might have to start a seashell exchange. ha!
Sorry for the hijack Burt ol'buddy.
Sirscrapalot - Jilly made me do it!
I make a point of only taking shells with no critters still living in them. I don't want to kill anything. When I find stranded shell critters, I even toss them back in the ocean.
I have sea glass secrets I'll share with people visiting...how's that for a trade, Sir?
...what were we talking about before shells?...
