other motors I might pull if they run really good are one's like the 2.4 from cavi's and sunflowers, them young guys like to pound on them and blow the top ends, or any other motor that is prone to blowing up and easily sold

I don't bother with D series motors, they just sit and end up getting scrapped, but B series, H series and F series I pull... I have a F20B I am cleaning up and getting ready to sell, along with the 5 spd, harness and ecu that came with it... the jdm importers near me would sell that combo for around 1500-1800

As mentioned before, the older Mopar engines are always in demand. Diesel pickup engines are generally worth pulling as well, either whole or to strip for core parts if they're complete.

A horror story related to this subject- Several years ago, a buddy of mine bought and scrapped a Swiss-cheese rusted old Chrysler that had been sitting for many years. He just hauled it in whole, and found out after the fact that what he had was a 1957 Imperial with the original 392 Hemi Needless to say, that engine never made it to the crusher, and he left a lot of $$ for a happy junkyard guy.

    What engines are worth money?

the 413 dodge motors are definately worth saving. people use them in 440 blocks and destroke into 426s. the cranks alone can go for $100-400 depending on collectors in your area with $200-300 average. a complete running 413 is worth around $1000. Anything mopar is valuable.

also it may require getting dirty but dont assume what is there because of a sticker. alot of old engines were blown or swapped or otherwise incorect to the vehicle but checking the numbers can bring big money. the '68-'72 440s are extremely valuable to collectors and can make upto a $5000 difference in value on the car if they can have all number matching.

ford you can normally get good money for 68-71 396ci out of the mustangs if you can find them as they are extremely rare. the 400s are another commonly sought after engine. just dont confuse them with a 351 modified. there is a HUGE difference. the 351 cleaveland (truck) and 351 windsor (car) are desirable. the car and truck designtion is most common source or use and is not definative. the 460 is common with truck builders.

chevy the 396 "duece" is worth $1000-5000 comple and original. finding one is difficult. the 400 is worth about $300. the main money is the cams / cranks. many of the heads were crap because of coling issues. 350 are still holding between 100 - 500 each. 305 are close to the same as the block is the same as a 350 and 350 blocks are getting more scarce. the 283 blocks are harder to find but share the same price range unless they are older and will match to something like a nomad or belair 55-57 range.

while the value amount changes between brand the same holds true reguardless of brand

hope that helps out a bit. my knowlege is limited to these more commonly sought after engines due to collecters in my area looking eithr for common or really rare stuff.
