Swapmeet, great resource to get rid of things & earn some money

    Hello,

I recently started going to the swapmeet to sell items that are under $40 that just arent worth selling on Craiglist and it has been a great resource. I used to donate most of it to the thrift store or the items would get damaged after sitting around and I would have to throw them away. Now I just save stuff up for about a 2-4 weeks or just until I have a trailer load and head to the swapmeet. We get to the swapmeet at 5am to wait in line then, they let the vendors in at 6am to set up. Its an all day thing last from 6-3pm, they dont let you leave until about 2pm. It cost $30 to have a spot on a saturday and $40 to have a spot on sunday. Sunday is way more busy with about 5 times as many people as saturday so, it is better to go on sunday. We are able to sell just about everything you can think of. Sometime you dont get as much for the item as its worth but, since we go with so much stuff it is totally worth it to go and sell many items in one day. We keep on making more each time we go and see a lot of the same customers every time. I highly recommend selling at the swapmeet.

in my opinion flea markets or swap meets are one of the best tools a junk hauler has in there arsenal.....over the years i have learned that the wider range of items i can learn a little bit about and learn who will buy them from me,,,,then the more money i can make.....before i learned about ebay i fleamarketed everything i found that was worth reselling....now i do about the same thing the op does,,,if it isnt worth selling on ebay i save it for the flea market......

i try and look for an outlet to sale almost everything i can if it is of value before i scrap it......

I like it when various areas call the same thing by different names! Swapmeet, what is that? Thanks 549 for the education. Fleamarket, of course in south Texas I know what la pulga is.

yep it is great and actually could be more profitable than many other things I do like recycling tin. We are getting more stuff for it like a shade canopy, more tables, and banana boxes (sturdy boxes to store stuff). We cant wait to go this weekend again!
