That certainly has some value. One thing to always check with Atari is the games. There are games worth quite a bid. It would be a good idea to look them up.

For any guys that go to GoodWill, this is always a good thing to check for if you see Atari games.
Yes, I remember mine. I remember having to take the joysticks apart and heat melt the plastic rings back together after playing a bit too enthusiastically. Unfortunately, someone threw it all out while I was away at college.
If you want to sell that one, I'm looking for one if the price isn't too high. Just missed one at the scrap yard a few month back. One of the workers was taking it home to his kids.

There is a superman atari game worth about $100 . I believe it's the superman with yellow lettering in title as opposed to the common red lettered superman . I buy nintendo,snes,n64 games daily .

Man.. There was nothing like having a pie shaped dude eat little dots while being chased by pixelated "ghosts" or pixel bullets shooting at another players "tank" or or the paddles where you "ponged" a pixel back and forth.. man those were some of my best childhood memories.. Having a 2600 in 1981 was like having a color TV in 1955!
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

I was 6 in 1981. By 1983 Gerlands (grocery store) was selling the 2600 games for $2-$3 each and my dad would be 3-5 at a time.
Great find! That is a sweet setup. Classics sell really well much closer to Christmas. I would keep it until then for sure.

I have my 2600 withover 100 games hooked up to my 47inch tv up stairs. To bad its not a 6 switch atari. those are worth some cash.

Oh yeah I remember those things, when I was a kid we use to find them in dumpsters! lol Sorry just poking fun at you guys who remember the war of 1812.
OK , all kidding aside. Atari games are just about a sure bet as far as collectables go. They are easily found, almost always below their value and are easily sold. There is also up to date information on values all over online. Working game systems are often available. It has been my experience that you are much more likely to find a 100$ value Atari game at goodwill or a yard sale than a 100$ vinyl record. I currently have a small collection of older games and have been actively adding bits when I find them. There is something I enjoy about owning physical media, be it books, vinyl, CDs, dvds, video games. I find it refreshing in this age of instant everything.

I still have my original 6 switch 2600 purchased new and games sitting in the other room. The power supply has been replaced but it still functions, kept and old Panasonic 27" CRT to use with the 2600, PS1, Colecovision, etc.
Its nice to be old enough to have played a 2600 when it was cutting edge.

Nice find!! I still have one around here somewhere to test out the carts on when I stumble across them.
I remember getting one for Christmas when I was probably about 13 and my dad sitting up all night with it playing Asteroids (I never could beat his high score)...we had the pong console before that.

i also grew up on mom and dads old atari...i remember selling pop bottles to buy my NES once the price came down a bit............i was 1 year old in 1981

Had one when I was a kid in the '80's. Too bad my folks got rid of it. I think they donated it to goodwill.
