Got this wire in today - does it have resale value instead of scrapping?

So I was going through my 'small crap that piles up in boxes' stack in the shop today, and happened to run across this wire that was stuck in the bottom of a box. I'll link to images below, but it has an OD of 3/8" and has many smaller copper threads (not solid core). I would guess I have about 30-40' feet coiled up and a bit of googling around says that it can be used for power runs between large electrical equipment etc. The only marking on the cable is '> > > > > > 0276 M > > > > > >'.

I thought about stripping the cable but wondered if it would be more valuable to a construction company or electrician? Should I just toss it up on craigslist? What should I ask for something like this?

Thanks for your thoughts and opinions!

I have tried to sell wrapped SPOOLS of cable before (granted it was aerial cable and coax...bit it was pretty large spools....not a SINGLE bite and I checked with all my contacts etc.

Just not sue 30-40' will entice one of those guys as they will buy base don the job...you MIGHT get lucky, but don't waste too much time on it.

Sometimes we have to scrap perfectly good items in order to make room for more stuff...and to free up the potential $$$ sitting there. Many times I can double or triple the scrap money before I would sell something and end up making more money in the long run. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah I've had to do that on quite a bit of stuff too, this was just something I hadn't run into before so for all I knew it was something worth $4/ft. Couldn't figure it out myself so had to throw it out there for the forum

Electricians/contractors can't use it due to liability issues.

strip it and get a chunk of the $4/ft back...that is what I would do.

Check ebay sold listing for any similar items. This for me is the answer to this type question. Mike

That might make good battery cable wire, maybe to someone building a drag car to relocate the battery to the trunk or someone restoring a car.

Thats not high current for battery in cars, low amp draw. Check out a battery cable in ya next car. Much bigger strands of copper.
