D.W. Onan and Sons Generator Model 3CK-1R

Got this 1950's onan generator as a freebee yesterday, after dropping it off inside my shop gave the beast a shot of gasoline down the carburettor and be damed if it didn't start right up after sitting in a barn for the past 30 years.

To start after sitting all those years tells me the ignition points are platinum, as tungsten points would have formed an oxide coating from electrolysis. Platinum points the next best thing to modern electronic ignition they knew how to make things back in the old days.

    Not everything had platinum points.

The generator head is used to start the engine.

Improvised using one of the Stihl power saws I have up on ebay as a fuel tank to feed the Onan.

Also got a pair of Lincoln mig welders, one is 110 volts only uses flux core and the other a bit larger operates on 220 volts uses gas or you can run flux core, both powered up.
