I have been selling my cpu heatsinks for extruded aluminum for some time now. Currently getting .85 per lb. for clean extrusions. Is there any market for these other than alum scrap?
I process roughly 1000 computers per month.

There really is not a market for heatsinks due to them being relatively cheap brand new, so I say just scrap them, and make sure to separate the copper aluminum and solid copper heatsinks from the regular aluminum ones

If only all of them were al/cu
I had run across some wind turbine ones awhile back that weighed in at 33 lbs each. Had a great turnaround with those on eBay. Was just curious about the small ones.
That's what I was wanting to know! Thanks.

Unless they're aftermarket, there isn't much of a market. Stock heatsinks aren't really resalable too much, but I do recommend keeping a few around for if you either build computers every now and then, or if you get a local computer shop that wants to purchase some. Most will end up in the scrap pile though

I don't get .85 even on CU/AL so .85 on extruded aluminum is OUTSTANDING! I get .35-.40 on AL heatsinks. I know they are making a killing.. but all buyers in this area are onboard with that price.
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

Ask for CJ and explain why your calling. I'll throw you some nice prices.
What's your local yard paying for alum Cans and iron right now?

Wow. I'm paying .60 for cans and $170/ton for shred. Difference in location has always amazed me.
My mother always said "Ask your father." My father always said "If it doesn't work, hit it with a hammer. If that doesn't work, hit it again."
