Very true. Ive scrapped a few things that I've later learned could have been a pretty penny had I sold. Specifically one I remember, a really nice condition old old apple computer with monitor, keyboard, mouse, everything. Ive since seen the same model/set of items for something around $600ish on
ebay and being sold at that price

.... anything apple I check before scrapping now, anything old I check... even old keyboard and mice. Ive sold old ibm model M keyboards for ~$100 that about a year ago I would have just sent to shred pile. I check a lot more now and also have a lot better sense of things that sell really well.
