Found a couple propellors the other night

One was beat up and one looked new and my dad told me if I scrap them he'd shoot me as they are worth more selling. Not having an e-bay account and not wanting to set one up I asked a guy across the street who has a boat what he knew about propellors and he told me to take it to a marina where they sell items and see if they would buy it or sell it on consignment. He said he'd use the numbers on the prop and call where they work on his boat all the time and find out what kind of boat it would fit for me since I have no idea but I did find out by searching that a replacement for that prop is around 430.00 !!! he said I could easily sell it for at least $100.00 if not more! This is the first time I've come across anything worth selling so I'll keep you posted what the outcome is! I'm so excited!! Lol!

Yeah look for a prop shop in your area. I have a boat myself and I know the prop shop here in town buys used props. Even if they are dinged up because they just fix them and resell them. No matter what you should always get more then scrap value on props.

BOAT = Break Out Another Thousand
2 best days of a boat owners life. Day they buy it and the day they sell it.

Finally clean and thanks for the help tips! Yeah, I'm definately pumped over this find and I can't understand why someone would just throw them away like that!! My dad says maybe they scrapped the boat and found the props in the garage or something. I guess if they can afford to toss em I can afford to profit off them!

When you own a boat you end up with so many extra parts its not funny. I have like 5 props myself. each only cost about 150 new but I have them none the less. They could have sold it and then found them later too. If people didnt throw money away every day some of us on here wouldnt have an income.

if i were yo i would definitely do a google search and find some boat shops in your area and see what they would give you for them.

I found an old mercruiser inboard boat motor complete about a year ago while cleaning out an old barn for a lady and was going to scrap it as the motor was locked up and i thought it was junk but my buddy told me to call the boat shop he works with just to see and they offered me $250 just for the parts they could salvage off it (carbs, prop and few misc pieces) and i still has the block and everything they did not want for scrap weight.

definitely call a boat shop you'll probably be pleasantly surprised what even old tore up parts can be worth as others have stated above if they can repair and resell it it is worth way more than scrap weight.

Boat owners are always changing props.
Stuff to do with efficiency & harmonics etc.
When you want a boat to go smooth at a certain speed, you need to tune the prop.
I sat in a 2 cylinder boat at trawling speed with a two blade prop, you'd get this shake start up front & then it would shift down the boat to the stern & dissipear out down the sterndrive.
Felt like a dog shaking the water off its furr all the time.
