    Cybex recumbent exercise bike

I did my usual early saturday afternoon cruise around the neighbourhood, wasn't much out at all however at the curb on one of the higher end streets (1-3million dollar homes) there was a recumbent exercise bike with a free sign stuck to it. Sweet!

It's a Cybex 700r. Did a quick search online and saw one store and one ebay seller offering used ones for $1,300. Now to figure out if this things works. I think the fact that whoever put it at the curb put the owners manual out with it is a good sign that it does work. Even if I can't get it going hopefully can sell it for parts.

Anyone have experience with these things or something similair?

Could be worth the time to get it up and saleable. Best of luck with it, Mike.

    Thanks Mike.
A little online research gives me a few possible things that could be the problem. Without being sure though it's tough to justify ordering a $70-$100 part. Going to see if I can get it repaired locally without breaking the bank and hopefully leaving me a nice bit of room for profit.

Find a bike shop and talk to the guy there. These can fetch some good dollars.

Cybex is what the gym Planet Fitness uses. They are very expensive and of good quality. It also is an electro-magnetic system.

    YES!

The problem is the internal rechargable battery. I used my laptop AC adapter to plug in the bike and it is fully operational. The battery sells for $70, I think I will try and sell it as is first.

If you have a "Batteries Plus" store see if they are able to rebuild your battery. Best of luck, Mike.
