This is really cool! I live in Illinois and I bet you would have a market for that kind of art up here. I am often at craft shows and don't see anything as wonderful as something like this! Good for you, keep going with it!

I would have never thought of that!! WOW!
I have seen a rough one before, not nearly as finesse as this one though.
They did use a old 2 or 3 cylinder air compressor as the motor.
I'm guessing that'd be a great start for most people.
IronPirate: here are a few more pics showing mockup, final paint and finished assembly. Thanks for your interest in this piece.

looks great laid out in pieces. Is that a 2cyl compressor motor for the engine? did you use a real springer front end or is that fabricated too?
Looks really like the old motorcycles used in the war movies in Germany, good job.

IronPirate, The motor "crankcase" is a clam shell style of cast iron hibachi. The "clinders" are short lengths of 3"steel tubing and the heads come from Lawnboy lawnmowers. The steering neck, triple trees and down tubes are from a scrapped 450 Honda. The rest of the front end I fabricated.
well done, you had me fooled!
I bet the dudes at the hells kitchen flea market from dirty money would sell that for 2 grand easy.
