What would you pay for a pentium pro? In dollars or pounds?
I know lying is wrong, but if the elephant man came in now in a blouse with some make up on, and said, "How do I look?" Would you say, bearing in mind he's depressed and has respiratory problems, would you say, "Go and take that blusher off you mis-shapened elephant tranny?" No. You'd say, "You look nice... John""
That depends on the markings and the condition.
Pentium pro's were released by Intel in two types. One being "standard" production chips, the other being Engineering Sample/ Qualification Sample chips.
The two types can be distinguished by the middle engraving in the ceramic above the gold heatspreader. This is call the sSpec code.
Standard production chips have codes like SL22T, SL22U etc..
ES/ QS chips have a code beginning with Q, like Q004 etc.
I'll pay 50-100GBP for the following production chips and Qxxx chips:
SY014 SL2FJ
QSpec:
Any except, Q0815
For other codes I know buyers who will pay a little less, but certainly above the scrap value.
Here is a list of all the possible chip SSpec markings:
SY - sSpec#
SY002 SY011 SY010 SY012 SY013 SY014 SY031 SY032
SY034 SY039 SY040 SY047 SY048

Thanks Bear, but I dont know anyone who wants one of those. I will ask around.
These are wanted now:
SL22L
SL23J
SL23K
SY014
SL2FJ
i may have others laying around, but kinda doubt it being the special ones, probably just plain production. I'll certainly keep them in mind though![]()

i have 2 SL22Z pentium pro's PM if you know anyone interested in them.
