I've been stripping two pounds of copper wire a night for the last week.
My question is: Should I keep the braided wire separate from the solid (armor?) wire?
I'm not really sure why this question popped into my head. I haven't brought any copper in yet. Guess I want to make sure I don't get screwed for cash on something trivial like a separation issue.

Generally - No. But check with the yard you're selling it to. I sort by type - Bright & Shiny, #1, #2 and Light.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Braided is #2 due to diameter of individual wire size...solid is #1 if it is larger than #14

Make sure your braided isn't copper coated aluminum. I just found out some I'd expected to be solid copper was actually copper coated braided aluminum and wrapped so it fooled me..

Our yard sorts by thickness. Braided is #2 and anything thicker than the lead of a pencil is #1. Don't know why they want us to sort it out, here lately the price of the 2 are the same. Each load I took in, I got $2.85 for each type.

Yeah, but that's only if you do sell several thousand pounds every week. I know I sure don't. I wish I had that much copper
