Insulated wires

Just a quick question on these. I am pretty sure I know the answer already, but do different grades of wire get different prices at your yard.

I have a bunch of really thin wires from keyboards, mouse, and other electronic goods. About 10 pounds worth of this little stuff. Does it get a lower price than say for example extension cords? Last time I took in insulated wire, I got 40 cents a pound, on this bit, I got 15 cents a pound.

I am thinking all wire would get the same price unless maybe it is the really thick stuff, which I wouldn't turn in as insulated on that.

I get 1.20 for #2 nd .30 for christmas lights u might get #2 for it but there not much of a different maybe 20 cents but u shuldnt be getting .15 or .40 for anywire other than maybe christmas lights but .15 that's way to low

I get 1.25 for insulated braid. I strip all the solid wires so im not sure about the price for regular insulated I do know its 3.25 at my yard for number 1.

Yeah, all the thick solid stuff I strip just because it is so easy. As far as Christmas lights go, I will snip all the bulb areas and just have the actual insulated wire in the bucket.

There for awhile I was stripping all wire I had, but it has been building up so fast and I just can't get them done fast enough. Here and there I have to take a load of it in just to clear out some space.

I mix all my stranded wires together, unless it's thicker. any solid wire goes into my truck center console to strip at a later time when I'm waiting for something or bored... I too, as tjlock stated, snip the bulbs off Christmas lights. Wires are just something I accumulate a lot of and fast, don't really have time to strip it all with the limited resources I have for stripping wire.
