    #1 copper

    i need to know what they mean when they say it has to be bigger than a pencil lead do they mean the point or the thickness of the lead? what gauge wires are considered #1:10,12,18,20,22? this will help me alot

    If you were to take the lead out of a #2 pencil, and put it side by side to a single copper wire, if the wire is larger in comparison to the lead, it is #1 copper.
