Books, an the reselling of them

Howdy folks,

Decided to ask this, after reading a bumped thread. Does anyone here have experience with selling books online? I've only done it in person when I was in Arizona, at a store in person. I was doing some looking on the internet, an I saw a few companies that will buy back books.

So does anyone have experience with these kind of companies? I get books all the time, whether for my own personal reading, or when picking up stuff at yard sales an thrift stores. Needless to say I'm running out of room to store them all. lol. I could see it adding more to my bottom line also. I'd love to hear feedback from others who've done this. I've not used either one, but would like to hear from those that have, or who know of other sources.

I'm more looking for companies that will buy all books an not just text books, as I get way more regular books then I do text books.

Yea, but I'm looking for a just a ship an get paid kinda thing. I love me some amazon, but I want quick turn around.

AN Yep worked for them, even picked books an media folks bought. Just looking for a quicker avenue.

Problem with that Hobo is they can visit the thrift stores can get them cheaper then if I sold'm at a yard sale. Not mention then I'd have to deal with those people. heh.

Reckon I'll keep looking an maybe take a longer look at Amazon.

Sirs - I understand what you're looking for, but if you get a flow going, then you should just be receiving regular checks right? You would just have to get over the beginning hump, but from what I read, you have enough inventory to start out anyway.

A little confusion exists here. Read books and put on truck seat to see over the dash. When you can no longer see over the dash, read more books. Problem solved.

Seriously, I take mine into the local library and exchange them for new ones. I have a constant supply of reading material and do not have to worry about over due fines. If a surplus exists a donation to the library provides a tax deduction.

Haha, I can see over the dashboard! Being 6'1 that isn't an issue. lol. I will have to look into the library thing. I like tax deductions.

my wife looks at all the books I get, takes out what will sell on evilbay and then we sell the rest to a lady for .25 cents a book. I get them for free so its no sweat off my back.....

Took a look at Half.com, if their not as anal as their parent company I might give them a try.

Still looking around their site. Seems less of a hassle then Ebay.

Let us know how it turns out. I do a lot of reading myself, so always have books to get rid of. Normally I take them down to Goodwill, but if I could make a few bucks I would rather do that. And I am like you in that respect, just send them to someone and let them hassle with listing them, etc.

I've used Sell Textbooks | Chegg.com mostly to sell my own textbooks back when I was still in school. They pay fast and have a pretty good price. The problem with text books is that you normally need the latest addition. Once a new addition your text book is worth basically scrap value unless you want to sell it on ebay or somewhere for students that are too cheap to buy the latest addition. I was one of those students and most of my professors would allow me to use an older addition but a few wouldn't.

Don't know if they have stores where you are, but I sell to Half Price Books. They have several stores around the D/FW area. Like you said, not a huge amount per, but it adds up and is a quick turn-around.

I've sold textbooks to Amazon with great success. kind of sucks that it is for store credit, but I buy enough from there
