I know of a place here that buys carpet pad. But not sure who would buy the old carpet and for what?

Carpet it nylon generally and can be recycled into a variety of other items including new carpet.
i also would like to find more information on recycling carpet, getting paid for it mainly. currently we are paying to have it hauled out.

there are two places in town here in orlando. The padding goes for 7 cents a lb. The carpet nylon only goes for 5 cents. IT should have some stamping printed on the back noting what its made out of. They use xrf gun to check it $$ x-ray frequency. Dont get it wet they dont like that and will deduct.
