Ok, so I said that I was going to stop dumpster diving and move on to better and bigger things. Though old habits die hard and I have two places I still hit after work every day. These dumpsters do not usually have anything in them on a regular basis but when they do, it can be really interesting. I believe both places are marketing companies and do advertising for alcohol. There is always banners, leaflets, bottleneck taggers and other paper goods that can be found on a regular basis. Though at least 2 to 3 a month espically around the holidays there is a lot of barware items and still sealed in box.
I stopped to ask if I could recycle their plastic and other trash. They declined and for six months after that all the barware was out of the box and smashed up. Eventually they got lazy and stopped this process. I use plastic pitchers for screws and other tiny miscellaneous metal that read Absolute Cosmopolitan on the side. I know I could sell this stuff on
eBay and make a few bucks, but I know a lot of guys who are trying to build up their basement bar. I don't charge, I give it away for free, crazy right. I also give the my card and a hand full more to give out. Friends always offer money but I always decline. I have gotten a few things this way and also got another guy who works in a hotel management company. I get a lot of stuff from him. People are always getting drunk at a hotel bar and throwing their mug at the flat screen.
