i would like to know to we have over 10 gayloard boxes full of the stuff
so it takes 250 million cds or 250 thousand to make 10k pounds ****
250,000 cds. I think AOL sent me that many, wished I would have saved them!
What about the old floppy disks? I have a bunch and the metal tab seems to be stainless, so I tore some off. not sure if there is anything else on there.
We can buy them as well...but its one of those items we really dont like buying...but yes you can sell them.
Another thing you can do with them is putting them around your yard watering system to keep the weeds from growing over the sprinkler so that it will still open and close as it needs to.
I have been saving my CD's for a while... maybe by the time I'm 60 I will have enough to sell
I second Mikey, I have over 300 MiniDV tapes I found in the desert along with some computers and printers. They're already in boxes and ready to go. I just desperately need a buyer. I googled "magnetic media buyer" and it's been a few days and still no response. Does anyone on here buy magnetic media or know of anyone who does? I really don't want to have to throw these away
As for CD Recycling, if you have small amounts: Home - The CD Recycling Center of America
They don't pay for them tho.
Best Buy takes them for free, as well as Target.

One of the yards that I sell to in Singapore buys them (even scratched), but i think its like $0.5 cents per kilo (about 2 pounds) which is the same price for plastic scrap. In other words its not really worth it unless you have a ton.
i would say for a small amount I just throw them in with shred..........

I know it's an old thread, but don't want to clutter up Ewasted's thread, so replying to Rev here. So yes I know the thread is a couple years old. Perhaps it'll help someone else looking into this.
I have a couple of games that are totally unplayable or the disc is glitched, so I figured if he pays for them Id just send em in with my next box of ewaste.

Rev,
You might want to try selling the games for more then scrap via CL or Ebay, even if scratched up. Might find some folks with their own machine to fix them, or a shop who will do the same. If you have a Gamestop or other video game type store you could talk to them also, an at lest get in store credit. Its not a bad trade if you doing any gaming, have kids who do or a better half that does. Credit can also be used on anything int he stores. From the new Xbox/PS to new or old games, sodas, whatever.
Just another idea for ya. The above would depend on the games tho mind you. So if it's something crappy, don't expect to get much. You can use eBay to see what a fair price is for such things. I'd personally go CL tho. I know one guy on there buys all kinds of toys, games, etc in any condition.
Good luck to ya, and good question. Don't see this one asked very much if at all. So bravo!
