    No more dialysis

Well for those of you who didn't know I have been on dialysis for the past 4+ years. I have also been on the transplant list nearly as long. It takes a lot of tests and evaluation just to be accepted to the list.

This past Monday I got the call and I received a kidney. I was in the hospital until late Friday and am currently resting at home. I will not be active scraping for the next several months waiting to heal.

This changes my life a great deal and I am very unsure what the furture will hold but it will be interesting. I may try working at a job I just have no idea at this time.

For me scrapping has given me a purpose and reason to learn new things. Its also provided exercise that I needed to regain some of my strength and stamina lost due to kidney disease. I am thankful for this forum and the members here who have been supportive and informative. The generous sharing of information is to be commended.

    Thanks to all, Mike.

God Speed on your healing, and when the time is right, hopefully you will find your way back to scrapping.

In the mean time, might not hurt to find someone to help you out in the business, until you at least heal.

Thanks to all and I will be taking it easy. I intend to honor the donor and their family's generous gift. I feel the need to get the most out of it by living life to its fullest and taking great care of the kidney. Mike.

Mike I am truly happy for you. When a person first gets the news that they have to go on dialysis it almost feels like a death sentence, but you have been given a second chance, make the best of it ole' friend.

Miked, my prayers are for your fast recovery. I just hope that just because you won't be scrapping for a while that will be leaving the forum. Keep us up to date as how your doing. Congrats and good luck.

So glad you are on the road to recovery. Happy to hear that someone who has given so much knowledge to us all finally gets something that you so needed in return. I am a BIG believer in what goes around comes around and hopefully this is just the beginning for you. Make up for lost time and get well soon. Godspeed my friend.
