    Hello brothers and sisters!

    Active duty USN. IC1

    USS Caron
    USS Nimitz
    USS Vandegrift
    USS Bunker Hill

I have deployed 6 times to the Med, South Atlantic, West Pac, and Mid East. I have not been shot at or anything but my ship did get to sink a couple pirate skiffs andwe helped out during relief efforts after the Haiti earthquake. Oh yeah, it was interesting to watch the f-18s ad whatnot take off with bombs and come back empty in 2003.

I am taking up scrapping as something I enjoy to do and might be able to cover some costs. If nothing else, it is an excuse to get out of the house when I have a little time. LOL Right now I am focusing almost exclusively on E-Waste as that is what I actually understand a little about.

I notice that there is another Bunker Hill veteran here. Synin I might be able to guess who you are.

I hope each one of you enjoyed veterans day!

    US Navy 86-92

NTC Orlando from 7/86->10/88 including boot camp, NFAS MM 'A' school, and the first half of Navy Nuke school before I rocked out. Humbling experience for a guy who'd never had to learn to study in high school.

Navy Subbase Groton from 10/88->10/90 fixing submarines. Absolutely the coolest job I've ever had. Those boats were some awe-inspiring machines. The guys who serve on them truly are a different breed. Much respect.

USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) from 10/90->3/92 2MMR "THE 2 SCREW CREW" and 4MMR. It was exhilarating to spin open that throttle and feel 96000 tons accelerate in response.

I get kinda embarrassed when people thank me for my service... the way I see it, I got to meet some of the best people I've ever known, and got paid to play with some of the baddest toys on the planet. I feel like I should be thanking them for the experience!

I joined thru the delayed entry program in my senior year of high school. A month after graduation I was off to basic training in MCRD San Diego, Ca. After basic, I went home for two weeks. My world......it had changed. It was the same, but I viewed things differently. I didn't know what the future held for me, but I knew no matter what it was I could and would handle it. Like a man. And I was ready for it. Through out all my life there has been trial and tribulation. Heart ache, pain, and suffering.
Not as much as some people have had to endure. Way more than others have had to. But I'm still here. Everyday I wake up and I'm ready to take this world on by the horns. Until the day I take my very last breath I will always improvise, adapt, and overcome! I owe this attitude to 3 things in my life. God, my upbringing and the United States Marine Corps! Semper Fi!!

    USAF retired

Hi my name is David. I served a total of 23 years in the Air Force. I started out in 1981 and after basic I was stationed at March AFB in Riverside CA. Three years later I got orders to Zweibrucken Germany I was stationed there from January 1985 to April 1987. I got out of the service in May of 1987 I stayed out until 1989. I joined the reserves and did my drills at Norton AFB after Norton AFB closed under BRAC in 1994 my unit 445 CES transferred to March AFB and merged with the existing unit and became the 452. I was doing regular drills and anual tours until 2002 during the annual fitness walk when I had a heart attack. I was lucky twice of course for surviving a heart attack the 2nd stroke of luck was being on orders. I went to the VA hospital that and a Tricare DOD section at Loma Linda VA after a stent was placed in my heart I was released the next day. I was on Active Duty orders from September 15, 2002 to June 15 2008. I worked around the base and helped sent people off for deployment. A lot of Marines were going through the base at the time. I was in civil engineers a plumber i believe my old AFSC was 55357. That We became utilities plumbing, water treatment, waste treatment, and liquid fues. with a new AFSC. I retired on 15 June 2008

I was active duty 1976 - 1983 Spent most of my time at Pacific Missile Test Center, Point Mugu, Ca. Worked as Avionics Technician and Aircrew on A-3 SkyWarriors (The Whales). At the time had the great opportunity to work some of most secret weapons systems. What a ride! Looking back I'm very happy and proud to have served with some of the greatest and most dedicated people I have ever known. It is I that salute all of you that and I say "THANK YOU" for your service. "THERE'S NO SLACK IN ELECTRONIC ATTACK".
