Is there hunting and if so, with what method, bow? Seems like quite a contrast to Australia with all its deadly creatures.

As for Gus and his bear problems, if he has any pets, please be careful. The saying around here is that a dog will start it, but the bear will finish it.

my grandfather had a black bear that was comming up to his "campsite" and eating out of his sour mash barrel...that bear was easy to find he was passed out drunk about 200 yards away.
