    Exclamation His Ship Came In!

I heard this on NPR this morning. I would love to see a time lapse video of one of these being reduced to scrap.

Scrap metal is being stolen even at that scale, by the train boxcar. 60 tons per boxcar and 20 cars per train. Whole trainloads being stolen even when the stuff is welded to the boxcar. 1200 tons at a time. Figuring $200 per ton, that's $2,400,000 PER TRAIN being stolen.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Just the logisics of stealing 1200 tons of scrap at one time is mind boggling!

I was stationed on one of the ships planned to be scrapped, the USS Constellation. Its so old I thought it was made out of wood. Wish I could get a piece of the metal for memories sake. Then again I could find any rusty piece of one inch steel and say it came from there.
