    Scrap Ram/Memory Theft

We had a theft from our shop last week. Someone made off with 50+ pounds of ram that was in 2 mail tubs. If any yards in the tri-state area get in a large amount of ram from their door trade please let me know.
Some hard drive logic boards of unknown quantity off of fiber channel drives were also taken.

Let me step in and say Chris is a stand up guy. I will still do business with him as all my past business with him has been great. This sucks that this happened.

This material was stolen during the business day. Not when we were closed. It had recently come in and was going to be moved to our secure off site warehouse. We will be installing cameras shortly.

It means just what it said . You just insulted the entire forum and all its members by implication unless, you have some reasion for suspecting a forum member. any and all people who even mention the thought os theft or even lean toward crooked or shady deals are imidiatly ostracised from this forum and imidiately ban for life. after FARTHER investigation, you find it WAS a forum member we will back you 100% but, to implicate a forum member out of the blue is an insult to us all. just my .02

Any theft from any of us is a loss and I would hate to see that happen to any of us. He's edited his post now, but it originally was saying it could be a forum member who may be familiar with the shop. It was just the way it was worded that would offend many.

Sometimes we have to be careful of the way we word things, same as we have to be careful the way we talk to people in person. Saying something the wrong way could cost you business. I'm sure it wasn't intentional, just came out wrong??????????????????????????

just my opinion, but i think he was asking people on the forum that operate in his area to be on the lookout if anyone comes into their shop with 50+ lbs of ram. didnt see where he was implicating anyone, just asking for a heads-up from other yard operators. i think this is a great site to help each other in many ways. good luck!

Something like this is almost impossible to trace.......Unless you recorded the serial numbers of each stick of memory this one might as well be chalked up as a loss..........Just because I have 50lbs of memory does that make me a suspect..........I wish you luck just playing devils advocate

If i was even close to your area i would have hollered at you today. Had a large flat rate box full of ram that i purchased in a 3 gaylord stacked computer lot. Obviously it's not yours, but still, made me double check where you're located when ya said that haha.

I hope that you catch the SOB that stole that. I hate a liar, and i hate a thief.

Oh, and i didn't take it the wrong way. I totally understood what you meant. Reckon if i woulda seen it before the edit id know what everyone is hollering about haha. Internet, it's scarey. You say something, someone takes it the wrong way, people get all butthurt and BAM, big ole poop fest.

Thanks for understanding it the way it was meant to. We have had tons of positive face to face interactions with members of the forum. I posted here at the suggestion of the local authorities.

Sorry for your theft. Now let me point out a theft your doing as we speak. You pointed out that you had the ram in 2 "USPS" tubs? Those tubs correct me if im wrong state property of USPS. Using those tubs for anything other than mail is theft. Not comming down on you just wanted to make you aware and everyone else on this matter. THe tubs are considered federal property and misuse can land you 3 years in jail and $1000 fine. Here is a news story on it. Illegal use of postal tubs costs $50M a year, could bring jail - WSMV Channel 4

Why dont we just delete the thread at this point because it is clearly off track. We have mail tubs here because they are swapped out daily by our local mail carrier when they collect all of our used equipment orders that we ship priority mail.
