I love this site, but why is there always more creepers than members ? I've always noticed that on the smf homepage and just wondered why they don't just join up or move on. Ok I'm better now and done ranting

Because most people hit this site using a search engine looking for specific information and have no real reason to come back let alone join and post something.

Some are checking out the forum before they join, how many have mentioned here lately that they crept around here for a few weeks before they joined in?? And then add those bots that were mentioned and it gets crowded around here.

I lurked for about 2 months before joining. I just don't like giving people cc info.

I now have a rechargeable green dot card for online purchases.

I use PayPal. Works like a charm as long as the other party has a PayPal account. All that's exchanged is email addresses.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

So is it creeping now instead of lurking? Can't keep up with all the changes. Lol.

On the main page, down at the bottom where you see "there are xxx users online...", you can click on that number, and it'll show you who's reading what threads.

And then add those bots that were mentioned and it gets crowded around here.
I didn't see them mentioned in this thread, but yeah. Most of the "guest" users you see are not actual people, they're search engine spiders, reading the threads. They do that so that when you, for example, Google "Ewaste", it knows what links to show you as results.
