Interviewed for a job you guys might find interesting.

I had the final interview for a job at the "Stillwater Mine Smelter" here in Montana.

I did wonderfully at the interview but now its a waiting game to see if I got selected.

Still Water Mine is the only palladium and platinum mine in the US. When I did my tour of the facility after my interview they briefly showed me where they bring in catalytic converters to be re-smelted.

Hopefully, I get this awesome job and I can give a little insight on how that all works.

The mine is underground. I was originally trying to get a job as a miner because it paid better but after seeing this job become available I jumped at it. Closer to home than the actual mine and still gives me a good schedule with time off to be home more.

I went to college in the black hills in South Dakota

Was it the Homestake college? I believe they had their own college there too. Hek, they owned everything.

i know they had a mining school, owned all the land(you could lease 99 years to build a house), their power plant supplied the electricity to all the towns, their water plant supplied all the water, even the Cops, I believe, worked for them

I went to Black Hills State but its very close to the old Homestake Mine.

So I take it he didn't get the job and ended up a hermit........................or he's got the job and is now a multi millionaire by now how knows if anyone can pass this info on would be great to find out
