Shipping Supplies from USPS, FEDEX, UPS, etc

So far, I have only ebay'ed a few things like Hard Drives, and the CB radio that I recently received from a client.

Been doing rather well in selling most of the stuff.

I knew that I could order free shipping supplies from the USPS, and today I placed my first order which will arrive in a few days, so I will be 100% ready when going to the post office from now on.

Only thing I didnt see on the website was bubble wrap, but I can buy that from my local dollar store, or BIG rolls of it from walmart for pretty cheap too.

Anyways, just curious to learn from those of you who stock up on shipping supplies, how much you get at one time?

I also, ordered a 10 pack of Order Confirmation, so that when I know for sure when it arrives, especially when dealing with ebay.

been awhile, but I used to get 4 big(175' each i think it was, for a total of 700ft) rolls of (5/16" i think) 12"x12" bubble wrap for about 20 bux. Been about 5 years ago so I can't recall exact numbers, but it was right off ebay, best deal I could get including an amazingly low and fast USPS shipping

Contact a local transfer station/recycling center. Many will save you packing peanuts and bubble wrap if you ask.

Yeah, I just happened to remember that the chumsky's once made a post on here for links to ebay for all their packaging material. Will hit that up for some bubble wrap.

We use old news papers and Diapers from damaged packs to pack stuff in boxes that need to be sent back for credit / recalls at work. Cheap and effective. Dont use dirty diapers thow. HA HA

Depending on what your shipping, the delivery conformation can be included into the shipping label when you print online for cheaper than it would be at the P.O.

Furniture store dumpsters have bubble wrap and foam for packing. They may even have cleaner stuff on the loading dock. Just ask the warehouse guys and you will fill a truck with the stuff... for free.

To echo what M688 said, when you purchase USPS shipping labels from Ebay delivery confirmation is included and it updates the tracking info automatically so you can just click on it to see where it is.

When I can't get my packing for free (which I prefer) and have to get something shipped out, I run to Home Depot. Their prices on bubble wrap and packing tape are reasonable. As already mentioned, better to print your own USPS shipping labels, as you will save at least a buck or more per shipment. To save even more, I purchase my printer ink on eBay usually for a third of the retail price.

Yeah, when I print the labels out now, I get delivery confirmation, which is good, so that way soon as it is read as delivered, paypal unholds my funds.

The confirmation labels I ordered will most likely be used for shipping items that are not through ebay really.

True, and like I said above, the shipping labels, will probably be for non related ebay stuff.

I agree that free is the best way to go for shipping supplies. I alway get freebies from craigslist as far as packing supplies like tape, peanuts, bubble wrap and boxes so far ive had endless supply. As far as how much you need that depends on how often you ship.

If your meaning, to do the label via ebay, and pay with my paypal account, I do that now.

I was referring to things like boxes, bubble wrap etc. This way, when I go to the post office, I just have to hand them the package, or fedex, ups, etc.

I just found out that UPS handles their boxes and stuff just like USPS. Not just need to get an account with Fedex as well.

I dont mean that at all. you can log into your paypal account and print USPS labels from there for stuff your not selling on ebay and still get your discounts associated with your ebay account.
