    The kids new scrappin truck.

Well the kid gets her liscence tomorrow and we decided to get her a truck. She plans to do curbside shopping as her way to make money so she dont have to get a part time job. I think it will work best for her since she is into sports at school and she can do the scrapping thing after practice. I just cant wait for her first load that she takes to school so that she can hit the scrap yard after school. Anyway only paid $900 for the truck 97f250 217k miles. I did a compression test on the engine and it was good before I baught it. Just put a new rear main seal and clutch in it this week. Still have tires, ball joints, and windshiled to do in it but then she is finished. Just wanted to share have a good day.

I give her props for driving a clutch. That is what most people in our family has, but most of the younger kids dont like them to well.

She will have the greatest sense of accomplishment of herself, when she takes in her first load. Unlike others, she has someone who is in the trenches all the time to give her pointers and to help her avoid mistakes.

She didnt have a choice on the clutch GEO. both are cars are clutch so she had to learn to drive one. But when I did ask her about it she wanted a clutch said they are more fun to drive

Haha! That's cool! PTS Best of luck with it. I think it's cool too that you're doing your own work on it, and I'm sure you'll rest easier knowing she's in a truck with a good front end. I think she'll be prouder of it too

    Awesome!!!!! Great looking truck!
    GIRL POWER!!!!! ^5!

I have my son scrapping..he is rocking! He works FT at McD's nights and scraps during the day. We got him a Ford F100, 1971 with 71,000 original owner miles on it (yea! farm truck) $600. He's had to do some maintenance work on it
    .
It's comical for me (Jersey Girl) to see my son (born & raised in GA) driving in and out with this thing scrapping! Total Redneck...having FUN!

That's a fact of life with a used vehicle(and EVERYBODY drives a used vehicle ; ) no matter how new it is. My first recommendation for anyone with a used vehicle is to buy a repair manual. They're about $15 at any auto parts store, and will pay for itself the first time you use it (and you WILL use it)

haha, it's been awhile yep! I got a 93 ranger in 06, and looking on Ebay found an original Ford Shop manual on CD(the same thing they used at Ford shops) for less than $10. It had 234,000 and still looked showroom clean, and got the whole folder of maint records. As well as she took took care of that truck, I still soon realized something wasn't right with the shifting, and after digging around found it was a leaking slave cylinder. She'd had a clutch put in it somewhere along the way, and I looked at the invoices, and the only think they hadn't replaced was that darn $35 slave cylinder. Why I had to do a whole nother clutch job far too soon.

Looks to be in pretty good shape for $900. Being a mechanic for the past 7 yrs Ive learned to hate working on fords but that's what most of my vehicles have and will be. One thing I do know is I will never own a Chevy. Just remember

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it wasn't for fords my tools would rust!!
