    copper prices

I see base metals up strong over the last couple days. Copper spot has risen nicely from $3.45 to $3.60. Aluminum is at 92 cents. I am liking this.

I'll never complain about scrap prices again. I get 1.80# for brass and it's been at that price all summer.

Hopefully it will rise. I am sitting on about 800 lbs right now waiting for it to go up. I will probably dump it all when I can get $3 a lb for #2. Right now it is about $2.50 a lb.

That's my goal. I have a local buyer who will contact me when he'll offer $3/lb.

Paragon Reports just came out in agreement, as did Barclays. Usually I sell whenever I have enough to move the scale, but for now I plan to hoard for a while, see what happens over the next 2-3-4 months.

Would expect prices to start rising at they yards in Jan or Feb maybe even March. First they have to recoup from the lack the past couple months

God, every year they say the same thing. We are going to $4.00 a pound or more. Its not going to happen. We will get to around $3.85 or so and then the speculators will take profits and tank the market.

I'm confused because I was just looking at scrapmonster (for first time),
and either I've been getting ripped off bad on brass OR it's quoting what the yard gets (???)

I just told a guy his brass should be about 1.70-1.75/ lb. wherever around here.

    Thanks.
These are yard prices i believe.

kitcos price quotes are posted for the investment/trader/manufacturer dudes so they can follow all the metals in one place

the scrap prices you get at the yards follow the trend on those charts.....sometimes
