    Metal with heavy rust

I have an old metal piece of farm equipment in my backyard that has been there since we moved in.
It is heavily rusted, much like in this picture: http://static4.depositphotos.com/101...pink-metal.jpg

Will scrapyards pay for such metal?

Step One: Is it metal? If yes, then you have found your answer.
Step Two: Because it is heavily rusted, it is probably of high iron content (Steel or Heavy Iron) or about $.06 to $.10 a pound.
Step Three: Haul it to your scrap yard, and walk away with your money.

Fun Fact: Scrap yards will pay the same price for steel no matter how rusted, bent, or mangled it is. It all goes by weight in this game.

Not trying to be mean, but this is a very easy question to answer. You have a lot of reading to do.

What type farm equipment is it? IF it is the right piece, AND you find the right buyer, YOU could get much better than scrap price, and never lift a finger ; )

There are numerous forums dealing with old tractors and farm equipment, you just need do some searching to find them. When you post pictures there they will help you identify it

It would take a yard all week to buy 1000lbs of steel if they turned down all the rusted stuff
