    Ebay Problems!!!!!

As a forum and a rather large group of people who share basically the same set of beliefs (for the most part) if we were to band together for one common cause we would have a pretty big impact. What im really trying to get at here is anyone who uses ebay knows now that they have a fee on shipping charges !! i think its getting out of hand but there is no other alternative to ebay if you wanna let millions know what you have for sale. what i think should be done is for us to promote another website like ebay. like say georges bidding extreme, we will create a alternative for ebay and support one of our own. what do you guys think ?

fyi to everyone, I had nothing to do with this. I will say this though, that anyone who wishes to use my site, let me know so you get vip status and pay no fees.

The problem is ebay s big and has alot of users. It is very hard to take bussiness away from them. Ebay has changed alot over the year and personaly I do not like most of the changes.
Now you need to find somewhere else that you can try. List on George site or one of the other choices and see if it sells. Even if it sells for less you may be ok with out the Ebay charges.

You could always send email to the buyer from ebay when you sell something for refining to let them know you will no longer be selling on ebay but you will be selling at.....

What can they do suspend or ban your account? Anything I sell on ebay can be sold to a buyer here for maybe a few dollars less so it isn't going to hurt my feelings one bit

Like I have mentioned a few times in the past...I started it, when I started my recycling company, and VIP took off like a rocket around here, where the auction site did not.

I have tried all types of methods, aside from hiring a high cost advertising agency to spread the word.

The site has a few registered users, but no one has ever listed anything. I realize that 99% of anyone will want to see active auctions on the site, to encourage them to post for sale, etc.

It takes the same amount of time, if not less to list on my auction site, as it does ebay for instance. It is pretty much the same, but of course they have put hundreds of millions of dollars into the site, and well, I am no millionaire.

Good luck, if it works I'll see you at the top of the Fortune 500! Cause it's gonna take some deep pockets to even make a dent in ebay.

I'll be the first to send you a bottle of top shelf Scotch tho if you can manage to gather up Millions in dollars, and site traffic to make even a small dent in ebay.

Anyhow good luck with it all, I won't cry if it works.

Sirscrapalot - Likes Amazon, but it's not for everyone.

The reason eBay went to the final value fee including shipping is that so many sellers were listing for very cheap and charging excessive shipping/handling fees to avoid paying eBay's legitimate fees. That said, I don't want to pay extra fees on the shipping, but I just have to add a little to my starting price to cover it. The fees right now for eBay and PayPal end up around 15% so anything I can sell for 85% of eBay value or more definitely goes to buyers on here.

How do you sell on the Buy/Sell thread here? Yes, I read all the rules and the different account upgrades. I was going to upgrade my account, but can't figure out which one lets me use the classifieds. Does anyone sell like that here already?

On ebay I just ta ke actual shipping charges and add 20 percent. This covers paypal and ebay fees plus the bubble wrap and antistatic bags and tape costs. The rule of thumb I use.

Cost of doing business...your not going to get the exposure with any other site. Write it off on your taxes and move on.

If you rise up against the establishment, you better be prepared to do it alone.
