    ebay non payment

I am trying to decide on what action to take against one of my ebay buyers for non payment.

last Friday I had a laptop sell for almost $70 with $15 in s&h.

sent the guy an invoice...few days pass by and no payment...send another...another day or 2 and send another....all total I have sent about 4 invoices.....so yesterday I message the buyer to see if he was going to pay. he said he pays all invoicez Friday morning so the first thought I had was (and you can't say nothing for almost a week?)

so here it is at 7:15pm and still no payment after I issued another invoice this morning.

I go on this guys feedback and see comments that were left for fast payment etc.

I know ebay can release the sale so I can relist it but I don't feel like waiting another week to sell.

any suggestions what I should do.

The easiest way is to just file a dispute with ebay over the item, and have to wait. I have my account set to automatically file a non payment dispute after 4 days to get the ball rolling early. Even though it doesn't happen that often, it's just something you have to deal with on ebay unfortunately.

I have had several unpaid item situations on Ebay. If they start making up weird crap like "I pay invoices on Friday mornings", you are never going to get paid. If it has been 4 days, file an unpaid item dispute. If you choose to cancel the sale instead, the buyer can refuse it. If this happens, you do not get your listing or final value fees back. Ebay is such a pain.

I think i will message him and let him know that if it is not paid by tomorrow morning, then i will file the unpaid item dispute. i hate to be an a hole, but business is business.

I would not send any more messages

I send an invoice when the item sells
4 days from auction end I open unpaid item dispute
eBay will send the "Buyer" a reminder to pay
4 days later >> Now at day 8 >> I close the dispute
eBay will refund your final value fees
Neither party will be able to leave Feed back
Add that ID to your Blocked Bidder List
"Buyer" will get a Non Payment strike
Smart Sellers have their blocks in place to prevent "Buyers" with 2 or more strikes from even placing a bid

Once the dispute is closed it is safe to sell the item again
Either on eBay or somewhere else
If you sell the item again before the dispute is closed >> You could end up with 2 paying Buyers and only 1 item leading to a Neg Feed Back

You do know ALL eBay Buyer ID's have 100% POSITIVE Feed Back
Since that is the ONLY type of Feed Back eBay allows Sellers to leave Buyers

Such a shame that it comes to this.

either just go through with the transaction and leave negative feedback "slow pay, no communication" or just file a dispute, wait the time and sell it to a buyer that pays on time. Dont deal with poor business-people that dont have their house in order.

I dont believe that is true, because when I go to leave feedback I have the option of positive or negative, and some other option.

As a Buyer you have those 3 options
    Positive, Negative or Neutral

As a Seller your choice is Positive
And if you leave a Negative Comment with the Green Positive Donut
eBay will remove the comment on the Buyers request
and gives the Seller a policy violation

While sellers can leave a positive Feedback rating and a comment for buyers, they can’t leave negative or neutral Feedback.

Whenever I get a slow paying bidder that looks like it maybe a non payer, under the advanced search feature you can get the contact information on any auction you have a transaction going with.

When I get the bidders info, pick up the telephone and call em, I've never had a non paying bidder.

Telephone calls are part of doing business, give em a call George.

Well, perhaps your account is different than mine, because when I have left feedback for all my buyers, then I get those 3 options each time.

Plus, whether you are a buyer or seller you should be allowed to leave feed back regardless of what kind it is. Now if someone leaves negative feedback, then ebay should contact both parties to see if something can be done to turn the negative into a feedback. But doing what you said, that to me would be a big mistake on ebay's part. if they dont allow negative feedback on buyers, and you have a buyer who has a few issues, then the potential people he is trying to buy from, should be alerted to this.

    Sorry
But the all Buyer ID"s are perfect has been in place for over 2 years

    How do I leave Feedback?

Buyers can leave a positive, neutral, or negative rating, plus detailed seller ratings.
Sellers can leave a short comment and positive ratings only for their buyers.

Which just goes to prove that Ebay does not care about the people making them money only the people spending the money.
Sellers have no protection anymore, I have had friends send their product to a buyer then have the funds pulled becouse the buyer didnt like what they recieved. Now they are out the money and their product.

Seems to be a lot of this going around, sadly enough. On and OFF ebay.

Buyers have 45 days from payment date to open a claim
What you are describing is a SNAD claim
    Significantly Not As Described
Buyer has to ship the item back to the Seller on the BUYERS dime
No need for the Seller to make the refund until the DC (Delivery Confirmation) shows a package has been delivered to the Sellers zip code >> Good for TOTAL Price items to $249.99
For TOTAL Price items of $250.00 and greater, shipper needed to use Signature Confirmation to prove delivery

Once the SC/DC shows the package is back with the Seller
Buyer will get a FULL refund
Item price + what they paid for the ORIGINAL shipping & handling

So at that point the Seller has the item back
The Buyer has their money back
and both of them are out of pocket shipping cost one direction
