    do you have an addiction?

Since finding this site and doing some reading. All I can really think about is making money off of "trash". I have been interested in scrapping for a while though. I want to quit my job and just drive around looking and asking for scrap of all kinds. But I know I can't do that. I was just curious if anyone feels this way. I've barely started in this business. But I can feel the "addiction".

I also started not to long ago and can not stop pulling things apart! It sounds cool to say I take things apart and make money for it.

I work/fight with computers all day long at my job, so it's THERAPY for me to go out to my shop in the evenings and tear them apart.

    I have an addiction...

This might sound corny to you guys, or at least those of you who are scrappers and don't refine. I have a silly addiction that makes no business sense at all.

I really love producing high purity precious metals. Industry standard for 24k gold for example is 99.95, and for silver it's 99.5. But I really become obsessed producing silver that is 99.999+ fine. I don't make as much money in the long run selling silver at that high of purity, but my customers seem to love it. I have become obsessed with creating high purity metals even to the point of washing my lab glass with Aqua Regia to make sure it's extremely clean.

There you go, that's my addiction.

Hi, they call tater juice but you can call me tater. I'm addicted to torch iron and copper, well ok and everything in between. Get the shakes real bad when I got a empty bucket or trailer.

Well I am a friend of Bill, just see my sig.

I too don't post much, but I am reading this site multiple times a day to see what else I can learn or help out with my 2 cents.

I do have a decent job, or jobs, but still I find myself enjoying the scrap more. It doesn't matter if its shred, copper, electronics, curbco, dumpster diving, buying it...i just love everything about it. My different piles, boxes, buckets, gaylords of my organization helps control some of my OCD in an acceptable manner. When friends come over, I love giving a tour, explaining what is what and why, and hopefully it sets in to them that it's more than just garbage. There is a greater good at hand here, and we are allowed to profit from it.
