Local soul and R&B
Cory's post on Blackoak and Jim Dandy got me going through my current tunes and found this one..
And this one...
Likely posted this one before..if I did..forgive me, it's still an awesome song..
And another..
and to end this post..with yet more trains!
Sirscrapalot - Music..is just awesome.
one of my all time favorite movies showing my real age
As I've said before..I'm a big Skynyrd fan, I found this gem hidden amongst the other 100 tracks of theirs I have. Everything bout it gives me chills, like Soulshine by the Allman brothers. Just that picking and the bluesy way its sung..just love it. Hopefully someone else will to..enjoy.
Sirscrapalot - Jamming with the oldies.
Gah nobody told me I was being recorded!
Sirscrapalot - “Go to heaven for the climate and hell for the company.”
― Mark Twain
^Thanks, perfect song for a lazy day.
If you can keep ya toes still listening to this, you need to call up your undertaker.

Some good old rock and roll

There ain't nothing wrong with an honest days work. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool.- Old Man
Sirscrapalot, where was that Soulshine video from. Looks like the Beacon theater up here in Manhattan. You would be in heaven seeing them here. Place holds just 2600 and they have been doing 10-12 shows there in March for the last 15 years.
I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.” John Wayne-- The Shootist

Not real sure BC, was from youtube. I'll search it out later an see if it mentions/shows it. Gah..Now I have to come visit NY. Maybe I can get lucky and hit some Blackberry Smoke show on the way up, and Allman bros there...and something on the way..back. ha!
Edited to add : Yep Beacon Theater BC.
Sirscrapalot - Yes. I ate all the cookies. You herd me.
Thought it looked familiar...well if you come up next year let me know I will grab you an extra ticket and we can take a ride on the subway to get there. That alone is worth the trip.
Haha I wore out more than just a few Dylan 8-Tracks, Hendrix and Joplin too
Just cause...
It's Jimmy of course there is going to be multiples!
Can't have Jimmy without Janis...
And of course..my own choice for good ol Bob..
Your all welcome.
Sirscrapalot - Listen to the music...
I still stand by my opinion that The Student did it better than The Teacher:
Side 'note'... I was at a doggie rescue benefit concert & heard this girl band warming up... they sounded nice, but when they broke into the first few notes of the SRV version, my heart sank, thinking they would totally ruin it. What followed was six-and-a-half minutes of utter bliss. I tell you I unabashedly had tears flowing down my cheeks when I gave them a standing ovation. They DID NOT MISS A SINGLE NOTE.
SVR does rock Little Wing for sure. But it's Hendrix. It had to be posted.
Sirscrapalot - The cicadas are coming the cicadas are coming! RUN FOR IT!
I'd'a thought THIS would be your Dylan choice:
But in the remake vein, Uncle Tupelo knocked that same song out of the park (in all fairness, it wasn't one Dylan himself had written):
