    true and truely funney

as most of you know I have been having some issues with my left side being dead (no feeling) Well the Doc has been trying to find a med to help until I can get in for another operation.

last week he gives me one that is supposed to be for Depression (what have I got to be depressed about ?) but used for other symptoms. so I start taking these dudes and begin to notice once in a while I almost black out, but since I can feel it coming on, no problem I just hunker down.

need to pee so I go into the bathroom and begin the task. About 5 or 10 seconds in I feel the (almost) black out coming on. no prob I just get a good grip on the towel rack. several seconds later I wake up on the floor with the towel rack in one hand and my, (you know what) in the other.

I was always under the assumption depression meds were supposed to stop depression not start it.

    1. apparently (and fortunately) every thing shut down when I did.

    2. yep

I have a pile of old brass coffee pots etc. thats where it will go. I buy old brass coffee pots at yard sales because I leave the coffee pot on 24x7 so modern pots only last about a month. the old brass perks last about 6 mo or more. also buy the little square can openers when you can find them. the openers from china barely open al cans. try opening a # 10 can with a new opener.

I have one of these for large cans, although not this brand (this one is pretty worthless).

New Mtn Commercial Restaurant 1 Heavy Duty Table 11" Large Can Opener | eBay

Just mount it to a workbench and it makes quick work of any can.

yep thats proly the best opener ever made. I opened many a can with that dude in my restaurant /concession stand days. but its too ugly and bulky for most home kitchens.

Wouldn't even mind a hand opener if I could find one that would last more then a week.

Not long ago my father was in the hospital, when he received the bill, he suffered from sticker shock. His insurance was not covering some of the procedures, so I acted on his behalf to argue the bill with one of the hospital administrators.

So here I am sitting in this hospital administrators office, arguing the bill. I already had my argument laid out in my head. First I asked her about the packages of towels, and asked if all the towels in a pack of 12, were used during my fathers operation. You see, I know about bundling, if the hospital opens a package of towels and only uses 6, they still charge you for the 12. I don't think it's fair, but she argued on behalf of the hospital, explaining there was no way to really tell if they were all used. So I asked if they were not all used, and there were clean ones left over, that since they were being paid for we should be able to take them with us. She was pleasant, and conducted herself professionally, but I could tell I was getting nowhere on the bundling argument.

After haggling over several issues I had noticed on the bill I finally brought up the major charge that I didn't believe my father, who is a Man, and naturally born so, shouldn't have been charged for. I asked her specifically about the pap smear, which anyone who is married or ever had a girlfriend for any length of time knows what it is. I told her I was fairly certain that my father, being a man, shouldn't have been charged for a pap smear. After a lot of sputtering and back tracking, she reduced the amount my father had to pay so that the entire cost of the operation was paid by insurance. Needless to say my father was happy to have the pap smear removed from his medical records.

That is too funny!! No wonder the insurance wouldn't pay the whole bill.
