    Carbon Paper for Invoices/Estimates

I know plenty of places sell carbon paper, but I am trying to find a place that sells blank carbon paper so when I put it in my printer, I can print my own invoices/estimates templates on it.

Right now, I print out 2 copies of my invoices/estimates, but figured I would switch to carbon paper, so you only have to write once, and it transfers to the second sheet.

I have tried a few places, but so far, nothing blank. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Your going to need a mechanical type printer for carbon paper to work, no?

You can have them preprinted for cheap at about any copy place, like fedex kinkos, office max, staples or places that do forms. It would be way easier than trying to print them these days and probably cheaper too.

We use carbonless forms with all our drivers on my FT job. And they work great and they are easy!

Don't forget if you get this paper you will normally also need to glue the edges... If I remember right you make your copies and stack the paper when the glue is brushed on the edge of say 50 sets stacked up it only bonds to certain sides of the paper... Very odd stuff from what I remember but also cool...

    I might be slightly confused..

What I am referring to is like when the cable man comes to your home. He has you sign the paperwork, and rips off one copy for you and retains the other. So it is like 2, but you just write your information once.

I am not sure if that would be carbon or carbonless, or what.

Just need it to be blank, so I can print my invoice/estimate templates on it, and then when the customer signs it, I tear off their copy and hand it to them.

Carbon would have the carbon sheet between the two pieces of paper. Carbonless does the same thing without the sheet of carbon. It would be easiest to go to a print shop and have them make you pads of what you want.

That would be a carbonless, the carbon is built into one of the sheets.

Won't work cause your printer does not physically strike the paper to make an imprint. Your printer is probably an inkjet/laser printer meaning it sprays the ink onto the paper.

Unless you are using a dot-matrix printer...

Geo take your invoice file to any fed ex kinkos or office place and tell them what you want. They will be able to print it for you. At least they should if not in house they can have it ordered in.

I know. I get my truck magnets and business cards done there for a reasonable price.

Unfortunately, I am a perfectionist sometimes. Granted I have changed the appearance for the invoices/estimates in several months, but none the less I do, do it sometimes.

Which is why I was seeking something like the carbonless forms that I could print as I go.

No big deal really, as most times, everything is typed on the computer and printed out, unless I do a in person estimate, which is very seldom for me.

I am pretty good about people telling me what they have and figuring out the cost.

I was going to say that I thought I had seen some blank Invoices,Shipping/Receiving and other kinds of forms that had large areas for printing/writing in Staples. Those are all carbonless. Check in the office section.

about 10 years ago, I did a cost comparison, between 10 printing companies in my area. (I was one of them)

I called them all, gave them the same specs on a run of 10,000, 2 side, black ink, on 20lb offset and letter folded.

Most of us were +/- 500.00 stinkOz was 1150.00 HELLOOOOOOOOOOOO????

back then the cost of 10k sheets of 20lb bond was 8.60 a thousand. 86 BUCKS IN PAPER and add maybe 40 for ink, film, plates, etc...

since then, the only thing I go to stinkOz for, is to FedX packages, to buyers here.

So, let me suggest that you try and find a local "mom and pop" print shop and support them! They will probably be able to do your cards, 2-3 part forms, etc as cheap or cheaper than you can buy the paper from a retail store for. (I know it is still true around here)

If you are he.. bent on buying paper, avoid the chain retail places and look for an Xpedex store, or other paper supplier, that may let you buy COD directly from them.

    my 2 BroJer
