    hit for the third time!!!

this time it was a little diferent. It was an escrap thief. he took only ram, 40#. I know full well who it was.

only one guy in the neighborhood who knows a little about e waste. and he lives right across the street.

we have suspected before he pilferd small items here and there. HE is one of those 30 somethings that is still sponging off his mother. she works at 65 he dosen't.

we will do our duty and report it, but don't hold much faith there. what really makes this thief stupid is, he knows he is screwing with the wrong family. Karma is a *****.

Not sure how your set up is but I have two dogs that do just fine. Numerous times have they chased people off last two times were the best one guy came through the fence bout 2:30am and I jumped up but before I had time to get out side the gate slammed and my dogs were barkin n barkin. When I got out there that guy was so scared he was half way down the street I just loved it.

    THIS! ^^

My dogs scare off more folks then I can count. Nothing walks from my shop or out door area. If they break into the shop part they'll be waking me and the dogs. My dogs will bark if they sense anyone near the yard or downstairs.

Invest in a camera, a dog, or a sniper..lol. Tho the last might catch you a case! ha!

claymore mines? no seriously... there are paintball claymores out there. or set up some flash/bangs with a grenade fuse. there are many fun things out there, all it takes is some creativity like filling paintballs with skunk spray or deer scent you don't need full on security cams, just get a couple of trail cams and they have motion detectors already on them, if you have some dummy cams up you can draw your perp into a area whare you may get a clear face shot with the hidden cam and it will be easier to convict him. i'm not a fan of the legal system, it's too slow and the punishment is unrelated to the crime. when you install a mechanical skunk and some hidden cams it will only take one time for him to learn there are easier targets somewhere else.

geese have been used for ages as guard animals, or get a little neurotic rat dog and a couple of large dogs. most of the tow companies around here have some sort of animal security (one I know of has ducks and pit bulls) laziest dogs ever. won't even look when you open the door and walk in. but one quack and they are all snarls and barks trying to open the door.

I concur on the camera. My company recently purchased one that has night vision and a motion detector for about $150. It runs on a memory card and looks like one of those motion detector lights.

Don't show your hand with the neighbor. I wouldn't even allude to the fact that you think he is the culprit. NOTHING is sweeter than catching a thief in the act! I would also think about keeping your CPUs and RAM in your house. It doesn't take up much room, and it seems that your thief is only targeting high $$$ items.

Good luck. I hope you catch the SOB!

Sadly, I'd have to advise against the guard dog notion. If your dog attacks someone, even someone breaking into your home with nefarious intent, they can sue you & drag you through the legal wringer to the point you'd gladly give them 400# of ram just to drop it. Most states' laws provide for this situation in favor of the homeowner, especially if there are clearly visible signs posted staing "guard dog on duty".

Still, defending oneself even from a frivolous lawsuit isn't free, cheap, or easy.

Cameras & strong locks remain your best defense.

Forty pounds of ram - ouch! You could get a wireless camera and monitor for a lot less than what you lost with that- course you'd want one with a recorder.

sheriff caught him red handed !!!! called the sheriff to report the theft and told him of my suspensions. he said he couldn't search his house on the lack of info but, he could go ask if he saw anyone suspicious.

so he goes and knocks on the door and there is this idiot with the box in plain sight at his feet and a pile of ram on the kitchen table.

he tells the sheriff he just borrowed the box and was looking fo ram for his computer. I wasn't home so he knew I wouldn't mind if he borrowed ($600) the ram and he was going to pay me for the ones he needed and return the rest. (right) they were all out dated 2 an 5oo searies server ram. any way it has been about 6 hrs of bs and he is on his way to jail. they took the ram tho said I will get it back in a few days.

some people are just too stupid even to be thieves. thanks all for your concern. burglers 0 us 3

    Gah!

Hang in there Olddude, and good luck with the health issues my friend. Anything we/I can do let us/me know, even if just emailing ya pictures of guard ducks shooting thiefs.
