Sounds like a true intelectual there haha. We recently had a county councilman arrested for trying to take old railroad tracks and sell them for scrap down on the coast 3 hours away. I don't know anywhere railroad metal of any kind is scrappable. Maybe if you have a BOS from the railroad itself though. Not sure about that however.

You need a Bill of Sale from the RR stamped on the piece of track or its successor.
