    tires

When I first started scrapping i would always pick tires up if they had the rim. Now I am stuck in a rut trying to get rid of the tires themselves. Any ideas?

The city recycle center allows me to drop off 8 a year. Check with your local centers maybe they take them.

My guy allows 5 tires per car
So cars that have aluminum wheels, I pull the wheels and stuff 5 tires in the car

Good tires I sell on Craigs, to a local used tire shop or at swap meets
I sell the rims on Craigs and swap meets with FREE tires

The few times I found myself with excess tires,
I had to pay about $2.00 a piece to get rid of them
Took them to New Bedford >> MAINLINE TIRE RECYCLING CO INC in NEW BEDFORD, MASSACHUSETTS MA (COMPUTER SOFTWARE) | massachusettsbox.com

Used rubber is big business for tire changers out this way. Fairly recently, buyers were taking less than full bins. You might see if if any mom and pop tire businesses would take the tires. Heck, I would see if I could sell the tires to them.

My Walmart here in Indiana will take tires for $1.50 a piece if they are already dismounted- and you can sawzall them off. I walk to the counter.. tell them I have 10, pay them the $1.50 each for them and drive them out back to "the cage" with an employee waiting!
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!
