I am interested in anything about revolt, disorder, chaos-especially activity that seems to have no meaning. It seems to me to be the road toward freedom... Rather than starting inside, I start outside and reach the mental through the physical.

That time of the year again. The tourists are traveling, pools are opening, grills are getting fired up...and memories are being shared of loved ones lost to war, and paying the ultimate price for us to live as we do.

Some of the quotes/images coming up...you may have seen before in a past Memorial day post. Being as I have a lot of respect for this day, you all can deal with any quotes/images I've posted before.

    On to the quotes!

What I can do for my country, I am willing to do. - Christopher Gadsden

There is nothing nobler than risking your life for your country. - Nick Lampson

The willingness of America's veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude. - Jeff Miller

137 years later, Memorial Day remains one of America's most cherished patriotic observances. The spirit of this day has not changed - it remains a day to honor those who died defending our freedom and democracy. - Doc Hastings

The patriot's blood is the seed of Freedom's tree. - Thomas Campbell

Nothing in life is free...not even freedom. - Me, or whoever.

Gone, but never forgotten. - Unknown

This next one is for Hobo..

Memorial Day Sheep is all I could find.

As always...my thanks to all who've served, have/had loved ones who are or had for your service to your country. My cooler isn't big enough for all the beverages I would need to salute you with.

Sirscrapalot - Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it. - Mark Twain

I like this video, an I think I've posted it before...an if not. I should have.

    And this one.

Once again... My thanks to all who have served, or who had/are serving.

Sirscrapalot - /Salute to all my fellow members who served, are serving or who've loved ones or family serving.

    Triple post!

Good thing it's my thread an I can do that.

This one is one I know I post every Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and on the 4th.

Simple, but the message of the image is quite profound..truly a picture is worth a thousand words.

Arlington Cemetery - The image doesn't do it justice, an it's quite humbling in person.

That I'm proud to be an American Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died Who gave that right to me
And I'd gladly stand up next to you And defend Her still today 'Cause there ain't no doubt
I love this land God Bless the U.S.A.

    - Lee Greenwood, Proud to be an American

Ok I think I'm done now.

Whether you know him as Cassius Clay or Muhammad Ali you knew who he was, and what he was about. Not only did he excel inside the boxing ring, but ****, could he talk some serious trash before a fight. So some quotes from the man who gave us the Thrilla in Manila, and the Rumble in the Jungle..R.I.P - Muhammad Ali 1942 - 2016

Friendship... is not something you learn in school. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learned anything. - Muhammad Ali

He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.

A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life.

Rivers, ponds, lakes and streams - they all have different names, but they all contain water. Just as religions do - they all contain truths.

I'm so fast that last night I turned off the light switch in my hotel room and was in bed before the room was dark.

I done wrestled with an alligator, I done tussled with a whale; handcuffed lightning, thrown thunder in jail; only last week, I murdered a rock, injured a stone, hospitalised a brick; I'm so mean I make medicine sick.

If you even dream of beating me you'd better wake up and apologize.

Ali's got a left, Ali's got a right - when he knocks you down, you'll sleep for the night; and when you lie on the floor and the ref counts to ten, hope and pray that you never meet me again.

Rest in Peace Muhammad Ali, and thanks for the memories.

    Sirscrapalot - Dance like a butterfly, sting like a bee. - Muhammad Ali 1942 to 2016 R.I.P

If all printers were determined not to print anything till they were sure it would offend nobody, there would be very little printed. - Benjamin Franklin

It's impossible to go through life not offending people. All you have to do is basically have an opinion on anything, and you're gonna offend people. - Rush Limbaugh

I live in America. I have the right to write whatever I want. And it's equaled by another right just as powerful: the right not to read it. Freedom of speech includes the freedom to offend people. - Brad Thor

Let's face it: It's difficult enough to be funny without worrying about what is going to offend whom. - Alan King

Be careful that what you write does not offend anybody or cause problems within the company. The safest approach is to remove all useful information. - Scott Adams

When has stand-up comedy been kind to anyone? It goes after anyone who's the target. Comedy attacks, man. - Sam Kinison

With any other celebrity, people come up and say, 'Hey, I really like your work.' But with my fans, when they see me, they don't even say hello. They just go, 'AWWWWWGHGHHHGH - Sam Kinison

Sirscrapalot - Everything can be satirized. - Sam Kinison

Not a quote...but it's my thread, so whatever.

Do Not Stand at my Grave and Weep - Mary Elizabeth Frye

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
    Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there; I did not die.

    R.I.P Mech 1949 - 2016

This one is personal an is for me. Selfish...probably,but whatever it's my thread.

There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart(memories) - Mahatma Gandhi

    R.I.P..Mum Mum..(wife's grandmother).

You welcomed me to the family when I first met my wife, and didn't hold it against me I wasn't a Redskin fan. 93 years old an you always had a cold beer, or a bottle of whiskey for when we came to visit. You never acted your age, an you proved every day that old saying "Your only as old as you feel" true. You might have been 93 but **** if you didn't act like you were 25.

A grandmother, a mother, and a pretty **** cool old lady, who didn't take **** from anyone. Rest In Peace Mum Mum..we love ya, and miss you.

Sirscrapalot -Thanks for allowing me my moment. Regular quotes will commence eventually.

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. - Steve Jobs

Different people have different opinions, and it's okay to respect all of them. - Juan Pablo Galavis

I don't shy away from any questions. I'm not scared of any question. I'll give you an answer. A lot of people are scared of having actual opinions out there. People are so scared of criticism... I'm not scared of people disliking me. - Ronda Rousey

In the end, the whole Internet thing kills me, because you can use it as a positive thing or you can read into all the negativity. And I think you've gotta put out positive energy, put out cool viral stuff, and then just stay out of people's opinions. - Nikki Sixx

Prejudice is a great time saver. You can form opinions without having to get the facts. - E.B. White

Everyone has two things..an opinion and an *******. - unknown
