    My power was never out.

Hatteras an Ocracoke. I'm on the north half of my sandbar those areas are south of me. An ocracoke only accessible by ferry.

Be another week before those people got power again, so I hear. Their having to install new power poles. Apparently the tourists are upset their vacations got cut short. Which I understand..you spent good money, blah blah. My sympathy is reserved for the locals tho who have to go without power cause all the tourists keep using the little that is available despite pleas for people not to use power unless they have to. Of course this is all nothing to worry about..the locals will survive, the real tragedy here is all the folks upset at the restaurants for not opening. They should open regardless if they have power or not..bust out some wood an start cooking over camp fires.

Only affect on me it's having is...my half of the sandbar is busier then normal, an more traffic.

Now pardon me, I need to go start taking donations for all those down on their luck tourists who are starving to death waiting on the power to return.

Sirscrapalot - I may or may not have sprinkled this post with quite the dashing of sarcasm.

Nice thing about one having their on thread...I can change up the topic if I want!

    No quotes..just thoughts for today.

Why is it that bullets ricochet off of Superman's chest, but he ducks when the gun is thrown at him?

If lawyers are disbarred and clergymen defrocked, doesn't it follow that electricians can be delighted, musicians denoted, cowboys deranged, models deposed, tree surgeons debarked, and dry cleaners depressed?

If Fed Ex and UPS were to merge, would they call it Fed UP?

Do Lipton Tea employees take coffee breaks?

What hair color do they put on the driver's licenses of bald men?

I thought about how mothers feed their babies with tiny little spoons and forks so I wondered, what do Chinese mothers use? Toothpicks?

Why do they put pictures of criminals up in the Post Office, what are we supposed to do, write to them? Why don't they just put their pictures on the postage stamps so the mailmen could look for them while they delivered the mail?

Why do we park in driveways and drive on parkways?

Can I yell "movie" in a crowded firehouse?

I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality... I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word. - Martin Luther King, Jr.

"What happened is beyond disgusting and sickening. Racism and bigotry is wrong. That’s all there is to it. I’m sad and concerned that my children are growing up in a world like this. All I can say is that my wife and I will do all we can to ensure that our children are part of the solution and not the problem. I really hope everyone out there does the same.”

Let’s try to make the world a better place. Let’s love each other. Let’s not be pieces of **** to each other. Good luck." - Kevin Owens, on the stuff going on in Va this weekend.

Far too few racist of all colors and politics have failed to read and/or heed Dr. Kings words.

I have not spent a great deal of time watching or reading the reports of the violence in WV but I am certain there were at least two groups there.

In recent times it has become evident to me that free speech is under attack here and in many other countries. I don't agree with those who held their rally but I did serve 20 years in the Marine Corps to defend the constitution and all the amendments.

I recall the time when the ACLU defended the NAZI's right to march in Skokie, Illinois in 1978. For those who don't know Skokie, a suburb of Chicago, has a high percent population of Jewish people. No doubt this was the NAZI's reason for marching there.

This latest march took place in what could be thought of as amenable to those holding the march. In response to the violence the Governor stated that those who participated in the violence were from out of state.

The violence was wrong and I certainly do not know who is responsible but the folks who did the march and those who protested the march were exercising their constitutional rights.

In recent times I have observed the protests where violence occurred and seemingly only the police have been blamed. I question in these cases if its the message and it being acceptable to those in the news business.

To me the only good news is the seems to not be more NAZI's today than in 1978. 73, Mike

One day, a blonde was watching the news and the news anchor said that a serial killer was on the loose.
So, she rushed into her kitchen, grabbed all her cereal and brought it down to the basement and said "Don't worry, no one can kill you down here!"

I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, 'I'm going to mop the floor with your face.' I said, 'You'll be sorry.' He said, 'Oh, yeah? Why?' I said, 'Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well.' - Emo Phillips

Today's quotes are in honor of Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. If your a fan of wrestling, or once were back in the 70s, and 80s, you likely know the name. Heck even if you aren't you might know the name. Feel free to google "the Weasel" if your not, an if you are...enjoy. Thanks for the entertainment over the years "Brain". The "Brain" was a heel(bad guy) announcer and manager...an funnier then all get out.

If you're poor and you do something stupid, you're nuts. If you're rich and do something stupid, you're eccentric. - Bobby The Brain Heenan

I know all about cheating. I've had six very successful marriages.

North Dakota State. What do you have to do there to graduate? Milk a cow with your left hand?

Have you ever been to Glens Falls? The city limits signs are on the same post.

There's the downtown area of Tupelo. Did you see the skyscrapers? Two stories.

Everyone should have cancer one time - then you'd know that other things aren't important. The guy that gives you the finger at the stoplight don't mean nothing anymore. You come home and something's cold, or you didn't get something in the mail. Big deal. You want to get up every day and see your family and your friends.
    - Bobby The Brain Heenan, after throat cancer diagnosis and treatment.

I wish Monsoon was here. - Bobby The Brain Heenan, at his Hall of Fame induction on his long time work/announcing partner Gorilla Monsoon.

Bobby "The Brain" Heenan aka the Weasel 1944 - 9/17/2017 Thanks for the memories, the insults, an the comedy.

I know we got a music thread, but...this one is personal.

To my Aunt Terry, who passed away today after a long fight with brain cancer. She did time in the army, raised a pretty good group of kids, an held her head high through all of our battles with cancer an heart issues. She was taken to soon far as I'm concerned. I don't think I know a stronger woman, an don't think I ever will. Last time I saw her was 5 years ago when she surprised us with a visit to the sandbar. I'll never forget how happy she was to meet my wife for the first time, or the big smile she got when she found the house an I answered the door. She took everything life threw out her an made it work. Life threw her lemons an she made lemonade out of it. She drove trucks, she battled cancer, an rode motorcycles, an she lived life despite all that it had done to make her give up.

She always enjoyed the following music, so my tribute to her is to post them here. I thank you all for allowing me to post it here, an to share.

Remember to tell your loved ones you love them. You never know when you might not get that chance again. I know all to well...I kept delaying, an now I never will be able to tell my Aunt.

Forgive me if I'm not my usual self for a little bit.

Love ya Aunt Terry, an I know you'll be looking down on the family an keeping us on the right path.

Chris aka Sirscrapalot - No quote today, an not sure when. Just consider my lack of quotes a long moment of silence till I feel up to quoting again. Sorry folks.

    My nana passed on 11/7.

She enjoyed Charlie Pride, Elvis, an loved the hell out of he scratch lotto tickets.

I really have no other words, as I'm still trying to process it. So I leave some music she enjoyed, as most of her quotes are most certainly not family friendly. LOL.
