Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.. or..Missing Sirscrapalot returns

    Folks,

Due to an issue with my internet provider having fun with cutting off my service well before the bill was due, I have switched ISPs, and this contributed to my lengthy absence. Long story short..My bill isn't due till the 5th of august, but for some reason my old isp liked to cut me off on the 23rd..bleh. IN the past they have solved this by turning it back on when I would call an point it out. I'm not the only customer this has happened to as they have quite a few complaints about on the internet for this with other folks. After being told they wouldn't turn it back on despite not being past due, I opted to go with a new carrier, but couldn't have my service on till 8/1. After a few goofs on getting the install, I'm now back online.

To anyone who's tried to reach me via pms, email, etc..I apologize for not having been here to reply. To all who missed my charming wit an brilliant quotes an my feeble attempts at humor...rest assured I'm back an the world is right again.

To my fans, friends, an all others...Rejoice I've returned! As I am now doing the same with a cold beverage, an much catching up to do. I can honestly say I've missed you folks an the lack of SMF for the last two weeks has driven me slightly more insane..haha!

Hope all has been well with you all, and business good.

    Sirscrapalot - I'm baaaacckkk

I was just noticing not long ago the lack of humor on the forum, thank god you are back!

Sounds like you need a smartphone or something. The SMF app is awesome.

Had a crazy roommate a few months ago. Wasnt paying rent and all that awesome stuff. She was also stealing from me and my girlfriend. So the landlord changed the internet password. When they get No rent, all but the essential services are cut off. Well she lost it, and stole the router and locked it in her room. Then she took off for a week! My phone was my internet for the week.

Sucks to hear your ISP was jerking you around. My phone company kept doing the same kinda thing. Glad to see youre back!
If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

Scott...rest assured the peanut gallery is back in full force my good sir.

Jord..I've got one, but it's hard on my eyes to read the forums from it, and I really dislike having to use my phone for the forums, as it doesn't give me the depth an joy I've come to love when using it on the ol' desktop and laptop. Silly I know, but to quote a famous sailor..

ive had EPIC battles with cablevision but they like my money and i like my cable speed so we tolerate each other....

.....I debated on including that, an had decided against it but..what the heck. Charter was the culprit. They seem to have some strange policy of cutting you off before your bill is due. I've never had this issue with a company. I mean heck, if the 5th had come an I hadn't paid..so be it, cut me off, but to cut me off on the 23rd of every month when my due date is the 5th of the following month just irks me. I've been dealing with this the past several months an they always fixed it, an assured me everything was cool. I've never been behind with them, so it really annoys me, as I do quite a bit of stuff on the internet, an wouldn't risk not having it due to being behind, etc. It's ok though, I'm now using CenturyLink who I've never had issues with in the past, and they are the best provider here on my sandbar. So Charter lost a 130 bucks a month from me, an Centurylink has now gained my money for the internet, an I'm back to netflix for tv. So I save a bunch of money an lose a company known to have issues here on my sandbar.

It's my own fault though, I was told by friends an family who've lived here on my sandbar that Charter was a joke, but I thought I'd give them a chance. Sadly to say..the reports/complaints I've read on various consumer websites, an from friends/family have proven to be true..total pain in the butt to deal with over the phone, an the cut off thing was the final nail far as I go. I don't watch cable tv enough to justify it, and the wife is just fine using Netflix for what we do watch. An if what I want to watch isn't on Netflix I have another website, where I can watch my current shows as fast as they air.

My water bill is due every three months on the 5th, they don't cut me off unless I pay after that date, not before it. Same with my electric, cell phone, etc. It's ok though, like I said I got the last laugh, where I was spending 135 for cable/internet, I'm now saving bout a 85 a month. Thats more money in my pocket to buy goods with or spoil the wife with.

Sirscrapalot - If 1 person says your a jerk, you can ignore them, if 75 are telling you that, it's time to stop an think maybe..you are being a jerk. - me..far as I know.

I thought you may have forgot to pay your bar tab in the Green Room...that Single Malt is pricey.

Haha..bartab is always paid KZ....Gotta keep my drink makers happy.

Excellent as always Auminer. Keep them hits an vids coming!

An Johnnie hard to believe I know, but...I don't have a wireless card in my desktop, so that's a no go to. I should get one, an I know this, but..I got no excuse for not having one other then, I'm to cheap to go buy one, an my rig didn't come with one. I opted for more fun with my gaming sessions with this current rig. Someday I might add one but till then I'll just suffer along being tied into my modem/router. An before ya say.."but you got a laptop.." my laptop sucks for the most part, an only use it when I need to, which is for work or playing Freecell. LOL. Even for work I tend to avoid it unless I need to do something away from the house. Rest of the time I let the wife use it for her stuff, as it's much to slow for the things I require in a computer. It makes Bear's dial up look fast in terms of speed.

Anyhow, thanks for the warm welcome back all, I'll try not to go missing on you guys again. I'd hate to cause Brojer more worry and gray hairs over the fate of the cooler.

Sirscrapalot - Of course the cooler is ok, It'd be like losing a loved one. You would hear the wail of agony from my sandbar.

    PCscrapper,

I'm always game for a get together, I've spoken on it before. My sandbar is always open to folks who wish to visit, an my cooler..travels if the stars align and the winds blow in the right direction you never know where I'll turn up.

I know in the past folks have talked about one at various folks places, an of course the big grandaddy of them all would be the SMF convention the Admin has hinted at in the past, an to which I still look forward to.

Ohno..I've hijacked my own thread..LOL. I shall find a bit of time an post more on it my quote thread..who knows what diabolical plans we can form.

NA - Indeed back in business and always causing some kinda mischief. Can't keep a good scrapper down.

Mr. Fudge, when the day comes I take a vacation( a good one, not a mod imposed one!) I will kindly let you all know, so there is no worrying over me and/or the cooler. I would hate to cause any undo worrying. There are times when I vanish, usually for hurricanes or big storms, or trips I know about, but I usually make a post letting folks know.

Sadly this was one of those times I had no control over. Stupid Charter..grr.

I don't plan on going anywhere for a good long while, after all, someone has to be here to remind you all to laugh as hard as you work sometimes.

An on that note, I'm off to the beach to spend some time with the wife on one of her rare days off. A good weekend to all!

Sirscrapalot - Your all stuck with me, sorry.
