Whats the MOST UNUSUAL thing you've found when scrapping? - Page 2

Found a device about the size and shape of a small waffle iron, had a plastic handle,little short legs,and a cord,lucky the box was with it. old item to heat up and defrost freezers.It come in handy in the winter,i use a small fan with it to defrost my truck windows.

CPR dummy. Named him Russel.

A "Violet Ray" a medical device sold in the early 1900's. The U.S. Government outlawed them and labeled them as "Quack Medicine". A deffinatinate weird find, came with a nice wood case, had one original glass attachment (box has cutout for only one). It works and is a keeper, a great conversation piece. There's one listed on Ebay just like the one I have for $215, with five offers. I think that's a little too much! They are are good and easy to sell, but I'm keeping it as they are only going to get more rare! Most important it cost me nothing (my favorite price).

Found $200 face value of silver coins a few years ago. was from a cleanout of an apartment. Most were quarters.

An old valve with swastika on it.

An old bible from the mid 1700s.

One of my workers found 3 adult toys in a couch. Funny thing is that I am friends of the family. Ended up getting their daughter in deep trouble.

1956 International KB-2 truck. Wanted to put it on a 96 Dodge Dakota 4x4 frame. By the time details were worked out, the owner sold it. Procrastination cost me a great find. Maybe next time.

I think the valve with the swastika on it was a trademark of the "Crane Valve Co." before WW2. I've seen photos in old books of those valves and they sure catch the eye! I'll betcha the Crane management never moved faster than to get those marks offa the castings when the negative connotations of the swastika became apparent!!

I think the manufacturer is still around today.

I'd like to get one of those valves for my shop wall.

It was originally an ancient Sanskrit symbol. The actual nazi swastika is not exactly the same, I think it is backwards and tilted in its axis a bit.

Deer and geese and ? Packed in a taped freezer/fridge. Can't remember if yard got it ...Ewwww.

I found a live 22 round in a gas dryer today

I don't know if this counts as scrapping, although i intended it to be. but it was a guy on craigslist just last week. listed a free broken wood chipper for parts. it did need 1 part. turned out to be gas, oh how i love ignorant people!!

Found a expired credit card in a dryer today as I was unloading it from my truck.
