We did a steel roof a couple of years ago. What we got was a discontinued color. My daughters boyfriend and another friend
installed it with new 1/4" plywood underneath. Cost around $1000. for everything.

^^Mechanic, I've seen copper roofs but not steel, how do they keep from rusting?

It is powdercoat painted. I think mine has a 30 year guarantee. Kind of hard to get used to the hail but other than that, it's great.

Yeah the wife and i had found a place selling factory seconds on metal roofing, because of the finish. it was running like a $1.00 a foot.compared to $1.29. and Ive had three roofers tell me there suppliers are all saying a 13% increase coming middle of next month. I'm still having some problems getting dizzy once in a while,so i think i'll let somebody else climb on the roof, just in case.
