    Garbage day

I was riding home earlier today and realized that it would be a great idea to look for any potentially valuable items that others threw out.

I was definitely hoping for some type of metal but it was already dark out the only thing i noticed was... Wood. I passed tons of older looking wooden objects but i know their value greatly varies, is it safe to assume most is cheap?

I ended up finding 2 vacuums and very nice padded chair. Not bad for free !

any wood that's real has potential, it's getting rarer by the day (just make sure it's not rotten or got bugs in it ; )

I started in scrap metal by curb shopping for furniture and antiques to resale, got tired of all of the metal going to the dump and started picking that up too.

Keep a flashlight in your vehicle, don't let the dark stop you from getting stuff.

I keep one of these in my car, it has 2 different lights, small one on the end and a larger one on the front.
Comes with a hang-up hook and strong magnet on the back. Works great for not a lot of money.

I love garbage day, I find some really good pieces and also some nice scrap. BBQ grills, tools, various metals. Its good to know the days the garbage companies run in your area. I think its a treasure chest myself
